I might not have a Wii, but I know that that's f**king awesome. I did a little forum lurking and found out that this is actually real. so, what's your oppinion on it?

With the way I play the game, I think the attachments would just make it more frustrating. It will be nice when they actually make a Zelda game for the Wii instead of half-assing a control scheme for a Gamecube game. It just seems that so far games made for the Wii control much better than the multiplatform games and ports.

I think I found the true definition of level-up.

Psh. What a ridiculous concept. Making a gun attachment makes sense, but this? Hardcore collectors must love this though.

My thoughts exactly.

I can also imagine such an attachment would screw up your controls. Heck, if my cat walks in front of the remote it blocks the signal to the Wii. I can't imagine putting a plastic sword over the remote sensor is going to help.

The pic is definitely fake. There is no such attachment. Five minutes of searching online told me that. Besides the obvious problem of it blocking th IR sensor, there is no way to attach something to the remote in that fashion (what IS it connected to at the very tip of the remote?), it would just fly off the end of the remote. Plus, if you look at the remote, it's the older model of remote before they added the speaker in the middle and changed the Nunchuck attachment.

Well then, that would make an existing one a REAL collectors item then.

Hm...now to make one...

Now that would be sweet! Sadly, theres to many problems.

Example:
If its a heavy weight sword, it would be hard to swing the chuck. You may break something. (Not that it would be anything new, mind you.)

If its light weight, it will most likely break easily. Just like the dollar store toys.

As previously stated, its blocking the light sensor.

That would help alot during sword games, so I know where I'm swining. Sadly, thats the only genre it would help in. Its awkward to try and stab or point with a sword at the end if you're playing something like Wario Ware. And if you try to play bowling by sweeping the floor, you have to have long feet in order not to hit the floor with the sword.

It doesn't even help all that much to see where you're swinging. Your icon on the TV screen doesn't correspond to where your remote is pointing, anyway. It makes me seriously wonder how light gun games are going to work with the remote. I guess they'll need some serious calibration.

Well, there's a shooting minigame in WarioWare that I found very responsive. I'm wholly confident that lightgun style games will work fine with the system, for the most part.

Responsiveness isn't the problem, it's the aim.

Well, by "responsive" I meant "it went where I aimed". I mean, the only other factor is whether or not it registers the button pressing, and I certainly hope that any current generation of gaming consoles has at least got that part down.

It doesn't go where I aim. It approximates based on where the sensor is, but it's about half the screen off from where I'm aiming. The only way to remedy this problem with current games would be to move the sensor bar in front of the screen, and that really isn't a reasonable solution to the problem. At the moment, the Wii doesn't allow for calibration of the controller, at least not within the firmware. So as I said before, aim is my concern.

As a collector's item alone I think it's really cool and I'd want it. I doubt I'd actually play with it... maybe put it on my wall?

I regonize that picture. it's actually oringally an SNES thing... but for some reason somebody photoshopped it to be an wii controller. hmm.
I'm on hitatus while I redo one of my webcomics. Be sure to check it out when I'n done! :)

Actually, it's a picture of a limited edition miniature sword/shield replica that was issued with a special edition of Twilight Princess that, I believe, was only available at Target.

If you look at the picture of the shield and sword replicas on the site you listed, they look different. Plus the ones that came with the limited edition were smaller and didn't attach to the Wii controller.

I think we've already figured out that the initial image was doctored, but yeah, I just noticed the difference in the hilts of the sword.
