hmm... hard to say...
I'd have to say Maki Murakami, who makes Gravitation. Here's a little picture of Shuichi in case you don't know what her stuff looks like.

Another influence is Yun Kouga, who makes Loveless. I'd sell my soul to draw/write as well as her!

As far as non-anime influences, in my real art (non-comic) I'd have to say I enjoy the clever stylings of Magritte. He's hilarious!!!! This series of his was one of my favorites, maybe because I'm immature.

Hmmm... I'd say Tintin. Massively. Perhaps some Asterix, too... and with some elements, there's a bit of Kenshin. But so little I doubt anyone would catch the influence.

There may be some Peanuts in In Session, too ;)

Shinkiro, that guy that does the photorealistic digital artwork for SNK and the CvS series. He's the only guy I can say exclusively influences me. For other influences, it's not so much the artists that influence me, but in seeing the various artwork I skim around that inspires me.

My crazy life, and Jhonen Vasquez (though unlike a lot of people he's influenced, it's not childishly obvious with me)...

Totally the Calvin and Hobbes guy. Bill Watterson?

I don't know what my style is like... Sometimes I think of Shirrow Masumune when I'm drawing... But he's much better than me. Also the guy who does Druuna for when I'm drawing Pinky's bum... Oh, and Caravagio for his chiaroscuro, and I can't forget Vermeer for his lovely light.

For me, it would be a Crl+Alt+Del for the outlook on life, Atland for artistic sense, and Bill Watterson for all around comicy goodness.

I have to thank DC Simpson for the artistic influences. He's the reason I got into making comics in the first place. I blame Ozy and Millie [ozyandmillie.org](his comic) for this curse...
Updates Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday's (depends).

hyung tae kim and Deviantart's Wen M and Frozenlilacs have influenced and inspired my coloring skills. However, alot of my friends say I draw like CLAMP, but the only thing from CLAMP I've ever seen is Cardcaptor Sakura...lol.

Where do I start? These are just the ones that I can specifically think of things that I've tried to incorporate into my own style, the ones that I think were the most important are in bold:

Webcomics/artists that influenced my art:

Rob Tichkowsky: Lower Place/Alex Xander
KC Green: Everything
Sinfest
Penny Arcade
Kathleen Jacques: Intershadows

Cartoons:
Billy and Mandy
Looney Toons
Clerks: The Animated Series
The Boondocks
Family Guy
Ed Edd and Eddy
The Simpsons
General Anime/manga influences
Lupin III

I don't really know who/what my artistic influences are, I've never been able to figure it out. I do have artists I really like but I don't think I've learned anything from them. :)

I've read all through the repository of dangerous things and I wouldn't have a clue to the influences...
Although maybe... It sort of reminds me a little of a slightly more adult and contemporary version of the surreal worlds created in books like the Cat in the Hat and Alice in Wonderland... I don't know.

Oh, I do like him. :) Also he drew a monkey for me once. I wouldn't mind having some of his crispness, everything he draws seems very... clean.

Most of my ifluences come straight out of Image Comics roster: the godlike Todd McFarlane, Philip Tan, Greg Capullo, etc.

I'm a huge fan of Wen M., a deviantART celebrity. I have a custom signed page from him hanging on my wall.

I'm also hugely influenced by the webcomic greats: Hawk of Applegeeks, Piro of Megatokyo (though not really an anime fan.), Scott R. from VG Cats, and a few others.

I try to take a bit of everything I like, practice it for a while, then incorperate it into my style, so I can blend all my favorite unique elements, into one style that's totally mine.

I watched a lot of cartoons as a kid and most of them at that time were animated in Japan so they looked like anime but really weren't (and of course you had the anime that was dubbed so you never realized when you're a kid that it was from Japan), so it would come as no surprise that I latched on to anime when it started to really hit the US starting with movies like Akira and VHD, Robot Carnival and Twilight of the Cockroaches showing late nights on TBS. Then shows like Ronin Warriors, Sailor Moon, and Dragon Ball (pre-Z they did show Dragon Ball, but only the first season.)

SO, I just took all of that in and applied it to my drawing which I had done since I was quite young. Though I didn't really start drawing people until I was in high school.. mostly anthropomorphic type stuff before that.
I think anime helped me make that leap.

Never really liked comics or manga though, so I don't consider it influence...
but Ive been quite fond of Tsukasa Kotobuki.

I always liked the idea of people becoming monsters too..
(big werewolf fan since I was a kid)
I loved ninja turtles for the reason that people would get transformed into humanoid animals.

But if you want to apply that to my comics or not is up to you ;-p

I am FS2 champion! w00t!!

Not surprisingly, I take a lot of influence (as well as inspiration) from Masayuki Taguchi [lambiek.net], mostly in the area of inking and toning.

As for actual stylistics... I'm not sure. I think it's mostly a mix of my drawing roots in Sailor Moon and Anatomy for Kids books, and my own personal preferences. I'm not really sure where my drawing influences come from. (In some cases...? ... probably Taguchi. Hahaha, I'm a loser :D)

Anatomy: Probably from the creator of AirGear and DeathNote manga
Inking style quality: from the creator of Rorouni Kenshin manga
Feature: ... not sure. Probably from Full Metal Panic and Get Backers anime and others
Funny expressions: from the creator of GS Mikami manga

I like this game.

My artistic influences were:
Akira Toriyama
Ian Jones-Quartey
Josh Mirman
Stephen Silver
Walt Disney
Eight

Most of my artistic influences came in 6th grade. That's when I was watching DBZ, reading Stubble comics and reading RPG World. The 2nd wave of influences came in my senior year of high school, when I started watching lots of Kim Possible and rereading Road Waffles. (You can tell the 8 influence from my original comic).

Anyways, it's neat to see where everyone came from!

Lately, David Hockney's life drawings and prints, Betty Goodwin and Eric Fischl (sp?)
In the past, William Kentridge and Kathe Kollwitz and Aubrey Beardsley and a whole slew of manga and comic artists, especially "indie" manga writers Kiriko Nananan and Naito Yamada (But I won't deny the influence of Sailor Moon, either). More philosophically and ideologically speaking, rather than direct influences on how I draw the figure . . I'm interested in Steve Reinke, Anselm Kiefer, Peruvian textiles, films like The Remains of the Day, plays by Tennessee Williams and Tony Kushner, the life of OSCAR WILDE, James Joyce, Jose Saramago. (I had to include the writing bit of comics too :))

Mike K and Jerry H from Penny Arcade. Jhonen Vazquez. Garth Ennis.
My style and art is one pretty varied mixed bag.
