It's been a few weeks and there hasn't been many posts here anymore. Is the Drunk Duck Awards still going to happen? When?

There's actually a seperate forum that the organizers have access to, they're discussing several topics in there (I think they've already finished with most of the nominations stuff, and are working on the categories). I'd be leery about setting a date for anything yet, but things are still happening with it. :)

Haha, I was wondering when someone would ask. :)
It looks like we won't be getting access to that old forum back (or if we are, not anytime soon)... so we're kind of going to have to start over, we were figuring out which awards to have. I'm kind of looking at a particular list but I need to look at all the suggestions too. No one really wanted to volunteer (and some people did but then dropped out later) so it's difficult for the people who only kinda-sorta want to do the work to find the time for it. :/
It just seems like a lot of people really like the idea of having awards, and want to help narrow down categories... but no one really wants to help put the thing together, set some rules, figure out which awards to have, etc. Lots of people have their own ideas of how they want to do it, but no one seemed too eager to want to collaborate to make sure the ideas used were ones that most people could agree with.
Personally I'm still worried about how fair voting will be carried out. I don't think we'll be able to put up any kind of voting thing on the site, and then making sure people aren't cheating, etc...

Oh sorry, I meant the organizer's forum. That's where the posts were where the organizers were talking about nomination and which awards to have and stuff.

It was a hidden subforum. :) But the new, integrated forums won't really do hidden subforums so I think all the information in that hidden subforum is lost now. :/

Someone just asked this in the suggestions subforum...
Basically, everyone's excited about the fun parts, but no one wants to do the serious parts. Picking fair awards from the hundreds suggested, organizing people, figuring out how to tally votes, figuring out how to minimize cheating, etc... every time I ask for volunteers to do it, I get 2 or 3 people who'll say they'll do it, but they always disappear right away. We have one person who's stuck with it, but I don't blame him for not being enthusiastic if no one wants to help him.

I think you should have a panel of like 6 or 12 people who choose which comic should win the award, a similar style to the Oscars. I think that would work more fair instead of people being able to multi-cast a vote.
And yeah, I understand the problem and I'd absolutely love to help but I'm going hardcore at University in two weeks and I don't want to have to pull out halfway through. I also think a lot of people don't want to volunteer cause they think it might make them exempt from winning.

OK, collaborate with PhatScurl if you want, but I haven't seen him around lately. You're in charge of picking categories or something. T_T Be your own boss!
