I just watched Saw 4 last night, and my response at the end was "huh?"
I mean, I get what happened - I get the twist. But the editing was so convoluted that the ending wasn't a satisfying twist, but instead a jumbled mess of images loosely strung together to introduce the next flick in that series.
I'm told they're contracted for 6 movies total, so hopefully some satisfying answers are coming soon.

I saw Across the Universe the other night. It had very good acting, very good music. However sometimes the music was very well placed and really enjoyable. Other times it was, "okay, you're just trying to cram in as many beatles songs as you can now." Worth the money-- try and see the matinee movie. I dunno about seeing it for more than 6 dollars. It sends mixed messages and the end is kind of... predictable.

The last movie I went to was the latest "Mr. Bean Goes on Vacation.". I'm a huge Mr. Bean fan, so most of the gags I had seen before in one form or another, but one of the best scenes is when Bean and "the kid" are doing street theater and lip syncing an opera song for change.
Of course, Mr. Bean in a French resturant eating oysters, prawns, and all types of seafood on ice was kinda funny.
There were a few memorable moments, but not many. All in all, standard Rowen Atkinson fare. And, no Teddy. What's up with that?

i just wait for the new films to made into dvd's!
Amen. I hate movie theaters. Crying babies, bratty kids, chatty teenagers, sticky floors--and I always sit behind the lady with poofy hair. Always.
...Give me a home theater entertainment system with a giant plasma screen, surround sound, a big poofy couch, some Nachos Bell Grande, and a bottle of Jack Daniels any day. :kitty:
Oh, to answer your question, it was Eragon. My husband and I were so disgusted, we left the theater about 45 minutes into the movie. It was the first time I paid $9.45 for a movie ticket and actually left the theater, and didn't come back. The movie was that terrible. I think a saw a couple of other people doing the same thing.

Why would you even have considered going to see Eragon?? Informed artist ppl should have smelled the stench a mile away.
I saw 30 Days of Night. It was great. The Descent level of great.

Because the book itself was great, and I was hoping beyond hope that Christopher Paolini wouldn't be a fool and give in to the director and stand his ground, and stay true to the book. I was hoping beyond hope that it would be one of those extremely rare cases where the movie is better than the book (like that ever happens). ..I was wrong.

I saw Dan in Real Life with my friend. It turns out it was a chick flick, which the advertisements didn't make clear. I felt like I should've brought a girl and earned "chick flick points".
Despite all that, it was sometimes funny... But it was WAY too fer-fetched for a movie about "real life". Watching Dan's family at dinnertime was like watching an Olive Garden commercial. Plus, the whole movie had this weird kind of indie flavor that just didn't jive with me. Its saving grace was that Steve Carrel did a pretty good job in the role.

I saw Dan In Real life on Sunday, and I share your sentiments exactly, Hawk. I didn't really see it as a chick flick at first either. In fact, I got the entire premise of the movie misinterpreted from the commercials. I thought it was going to be about Dan struggling to gain the respect of his daughters, despite the fact that he already seemed to have it mastered in his articles. And it a part of the movie was about that, but it was mainly about this love story, which I didn't see coming at all.
But it was alright. It definitely had its moments, and it got some good chuckles out of me. And you're right Hawk, it did play out with a sort of "indie" to it. Maybe it was the music (which I thought was excellent by the way, the soundtrack is very well put-together). Some parts were a bit too far-fetched (Dan's daughter Cara's love obsession was painfully ridiculous), but I thought the acting was believable. Steve Carrel really got into his character and in the end, the movie had a really good message to it. I don't know... it was a warm, quirky, fuzzy movie. I guess I probably should've done my homework instead seeing it in theaters, it's more of a DVD movie methinks. Let's leave it at that.
