In another thread there is talk about starting a game screen shot area where you can post your achievements or comical screen shots.

It got me thinking, Maybe we should have a thread where we post a game screen (more esoteric the better) and see if anyone can guess the game name correctly. First correct answer can post a new game!

Thoughts?

Well, in case you like the idea, I'll post a screen...hold on...

Anyone know?

Hint: It's a NES title

Please DO NOT simply follow the image link, really try to guess.

It's Bad Dudes, at the end of level 1 where you fight Karnov. I didn't know they had an NES version of the game. And I'm all for a game-guessing thread, so long as enough people keep it alive.

Might want to change the title of the image to something other than the name of the game or its characters, too.

You want obscure, here's obscure(no peeking at the image code):

Hint: It's a saturn game.

Wow, never have seen that game before, although it kinda reminds me of Bubble Bobble (Or whatever it's called)

Also, yeah Bad Dudes was the game...Hahahah, that game was hilarious.

Walrus's looks like X-COM to me. As for Eirikr's, it might be better to post games which weren't exclusive to Japan. Japan has a lot of obscure games which people could post and nobody would ever guess what they are simply because the majority of people in here aren't import gamers. And for the record, Pastel Muse was also on the Playstation.

This one was a PS2 game.

I can't remember the name of the game now, but it reminds me of that Mechanical Rabbit which would jump up real high with an over the head perspective. I don't think it's for the PS2 though, and I never actually played it myself...So I'm probably completely wrong :S

The game Erad is thinking of is Jumping Flash, the picture I posted isn't.

Helpful tip to players:

You might want to remove the name from the image address

I'm pretty sure that was mentioned. It's also why I renamed the pic and moved it to my web site. It's also not really a spoiler if the games have been guessed already.

Oh yeah I see that post now. Not sure how I missed that. Probably too shocked that someone remembers Pastel Muses other than me.

I've played a lot of really obscure games and have been buying imports since the 32-bit generation.

No one knows isukun's game yet?

I don't have very obscure tastes.

Hmmm, this kind of looks like Final Fight: Streetwise, but I'm not so sure. The graphics look a little too bright.

Also, somewhat of a tangent, but I've been trying to import saturn games recently. Are there any sites other than Play-asia that you would recommend?

I haven't really bought any saturn games recently. I think the last thing I bought was Saturn Bomberman when they somehow pulled in a shipment at NCSX a while back. I've also bought games from Himeya Shop in the past, but they don't really carry that much older stuff unless you're looking for PC or doujin games. Beyond that, I'd say ebay.

Oh, and it's not Final Fight: Streetwise. It is derived from another popular beat'em up series, though.

How can we keep the guesses coming?

Maybe another hint?

It's hard to give any further hints without making it too obvious. The Xbox only had four or five games which really fit the genre. This one was a sequel to an arcade game, but only got a limited release. Despite that, it still has a following online. It's also one of the few of it's genre to have a four player split-screen multiplayer mode.

Huh, this is tricky because you either know the game...or you don't.

In order to solve your game, I think we need more people since it's hard to research potential games with the clues we have.

If we want more people, I think we should throw up a second game!

I'll repost usukun's game and post a different game as well. That sound fair? If you guess eitehr, you can post a new game.

I know what it is since I was one of maybe 10 people who owned a 3DO, but I don't want to post it bcause nobody has guessed the last game I posted.

isukun, you're killing this game!

I actually loved the game I posted. Not too long ago I wanted to see if I could find it for the PC (was it released for the PC? It seemed to be perfect for the PC format...).

Anyways, maybe the game wouldn't be as amazing as I remembered it but I know that I found it very addictive and fun.

Yeah, the 3DO version was a port of the PC game, so you can probably find it out there somewhere.
