What would you write/draw differently in your comic if you were the opposite gender?

All the male characters would be sexualized instead of the females. Unless I was also gay, then I wouldn't change a thing. Actually, in that case, Parker would be a Mary Sue.

I suppose my lead character would be male if I was female. Most authors seem most interested in the opposite gender, so that would seem only logical. And I think my main villain would then be female.

A few shower scenes, and a little yaoi. Yeah, it would bacially be the same, but with all the main roles reversed.

What? Eunice P ain't a girl. He's a man. Y'all wrong. Wrong!
HAHAHAHAHA!!!! I used to think that Eunice was a guy, too! I thought surely no one who draws girls that hot could possibly be female. I was so embarrassed when I found out that Eunice was a woman. Especially since I Dev-watch her, and it's right there on her DeviantART page !

and it's right there on her DeviantART page!

OH NOES the world~! It's falling all around me~!

Actually now I can stop thinking of EP as some effeminate guy and just as a straight up girl. OK.

Eeeeh... but I'm used to EP as effeminate guy. Like Ouran High Host Club.

I doubt I'd do my comic at all if I were male.

I love reading the comments guys and girls! This is hilarious!
Cool picture post Eunice P! Maybe there should be another discussion with pictures of what you think your art would look like...

Okay here's my weird idea.
For the Planet Closest to Heaven Pepe would be a chick and would randomly turn into a human girl... naked.(Then again it's already done now. Bleach...) Scout would be an adorable shy girl like Hinata from Naruto. And I can't come up with anything else.

Demon Eater... would be exactly the same.

Honestly, I think it would be the same. Perhaps though, David would be the one holding the scythe. MAYYYYBE. But even that is a big if, since there are no sidekicks/extras/fanservice stuff in my comic.

And maybe Zoe would be more voluptuously bosomed. And have more eyeliner. And even longer pigtails than she already does. hehe.

But plotwise, and dialogue-wise, I think it would be quite similar, if not the same.

Actually, come to think of it, I don't think that I would draw comics if I were a girl.

Let me think...

Letsee, in my experience, most females I know are very forgiving yet very stubborn. If I were a girl, I probably wouldn't have ended up friendless by 5th grade, turn to the internet, and eventually begin webcomics.

Strange how that works...

If I was a woman, writing the same comic? Hmm.

The female characters would be written a lot better, that's for sure. It's really hard to get into the head of a lady character if you are not one yourself.

I think everything else would be about the same. Perhaps a bit less of the 'talking heads' style, but otherwise...yeah, pretty much the same. I mean, I'm ALREADY writing about a bit of romance and 'the power of friendship' and that stuff, which seems to be seen as the dominion of the lady writers. For some reason.

ooh I think I figured out something!!!
1.) Tom, my main character, wouldn't be such a crybaby wuss who is completely lazy and sensitive and emotional. He'd probably be more like "Arr! I'm gonna set people on fire!! And be MANLY!!!"
2.) There would be no man-hugging.
3.) I tried to make the girls' outfits panty-shot-proof, because fanservice like that always annoys me. if I were a boy, I don't think I would want to show my characters in overly sexual images still; it's not like I show crotch-shots of my male characters or anything. But I'd probably, at least, not have Eve wearing long shorts under her dress, and I would probably give Erika short-shorts rather than bermuda shorts. ^_^

Really, if I suddenly changed a month ago, I don't think any of them would really be much different.

But if I was born with over-complicated genes, yeah, the different directions of development (as slight as they may seemingly be), would probably result in some much different ideas. Hell, If I was born female I'd have a job by now, and probably actually be in my own quiet little scum hole, hunched over a table every afternoon drawing much better than I am now. Although, as I think about it things get more and more complicated.
Ugh. X.x

Although one can't help but wonder , and whimper.

This is a very fun question.

Well I began my comics career copying male oriented art and have definitely been influenced by large breasts and skin-tight clothing. I think over time though, I became more sensitive to exploitation of women in my own art and have toned myself down alot. I think if I were a man I would not have toned down. I would have gotten more overtly sexual with my female characters and I probably, like Ozone mentioned, been more into robots and machinery. I would someday like to learn how to draw such things properly, but I really have very little joy in mechs. But, let's take this by comic:

Jump: It's a romance story, really, a lot of that romance would be gone and the original premise would have stayed - a comic that exists solely to showcase the most violent things I could think of - Ryan going around killing, beating, maiming, torturing, raping anyone and anything. I kinda wish that's what it was sometimes...ah well.

Lola: Probably never would exist. I would have had a quite different childhood as a boy. I doubt that there would have been any experiences that would create a Lola.

Fire Born: Would probably stay the same seeing as I originally created it during my very male-dominated drawing era.

I wouldn't say that I wouldn't be drawing if I was female born. My mother drew too, when she was a kid, and only stopped because grandma burned all her drawings (because drawing "wastes time" and makes her "a delinquent").

And I always loved telling stories, with action figures or thru drawn characters. I was drawing dialog-heavy manga before I even knew how to write. I simply substituted dots as words inside the word balloons, and I'd speak them out as I "wrote the words." Needless to say, only I knew what the stories were about.

I know plenty of girls write fanfics.

So bottom line, I'd still be drawing manga even if I am a girl. I'd prolly be married now though, because I'd be hot. Heh, yeah.

I'd probably draw more girl characters, cause my characters are a reflection of myself, so i think it'd make sense

It's hard to tell how my work would be different if I was a woman. It would probably be better thought out and more rational than it is now.

I would probably include more female characters because in theory I would be able to write them better. I tend not to use many female characters because I don't think I write them very well. And I suck at drawing girl faces.

And I would probably draw less violence and gunfights.

I would actually be able to write and draw female characters.

As I always say, if I was a girl, I'd date myself.
Why hello there.

Someone
if I was a girl, I'd date myself.

While I understand the hardship in finding a girl who also likes (or at least appreciates) the kind of things you like, dating a female version of yourself would be kinda boring.

Just having someone who can actually beat me in games and who can help me draw/write/bounce off, would probably make me settle for a female version of myself. But, if my female self knew my male self is "settling" for her, she'd cry and leave...
