What the hell....?

So the other night I check drunk duck and notice my comic is somehow on the front page.. So I check my stats and this is what I get:

What the hell is going on? Despite how desperately I want to believe otherwise, I know it almost has to be a bot or something cause not one of those people left a comment on my pages. But I still can't figure out why. Why would some random stranger take time out of his life to bot my comic into the top ten? I know a similar thing happened to Sheeps recently and I know sudden jumps in page views are possible if the right site links to you.. But not a single comment?

Anyways, I just wanted to get across that I in no shape or form took part in any scheme to cheat my page views. The whole thing actually makes me kind of mad cause I was excited to see the numbers at first, then really disappointed when I came to the realization that it might not be real.

PS: do you guys know if there's some way to embed Google Analytics into your page so I can see if all the traffic is being directed from some bigger site or something? A man can dream!

http://www.statcounter.com/

Will track who's linking to you, how long they stayed, who links to you most often, up to the second.

maybe you got one of your strips linked on a really popular website or message board.

something like that would generate a lot of views, and no one necessarily has to sign up or comment.

I would hate it if I got a bot too. I want people to read my comic, not bot me.

Put on the stat counter, it will be interesting to see if you in fact got linked by another website! Do come back and share if that is so!

Thank you so much for recommending statcounter, skullbie. It's way better than Analytics and it starts working instantaneously. Turns out its all coming from Stumbleupon. I'm not exactly sure how their recommend system works, but its sending people to my page like crazy. Just lucked out with their algorithm I guess. If it is all faked, the person did a ridiculously good job of hiding it.

Wow, that is a bit of luck. Congrats.

Also, Would you like a guest comic or something else that would result in you using your new found fandom to link people to my comic?

I was actually going to mention StumbleUpon. Depending on who stumbled it, you could gain a massive amount of hits. I had a huge spike in hits one day (Nowhere near 60,000) and I was wondering why? Turns out that was the day after I signed up for a StumbleUpon acct and Stumbled my own comic.

It's a Grizzly Bear battling Zombies. Do you need to know more?
DOLLAR STORE HAIRCUT A daily webcomic of unfunny.

StumbleUpon didn't really work for me...maybe I categorized it wrong.
That's "Dr. BlkKnight" to all of you.
