Any suggestions on other good comic books out there?

Not much, sadly. Often seems like when the comic book industry took that hit back in the day, a lot of NJ stores closed down for good. I used to know 5 in the area. Now, just 2 and the closest is 25mins away. So many zombie comics these days, I can't tell one from another anymore. :(

I still make a serious effort to read Knights of the Dinner Table, alongside some manga and Shonen Jump.

Have you read Bone? I didn't care for the ending, but its a good journey for the most part.

Dredd's REALLY been having a big impact on my work lately. excellent comic, i reccomend it to anybody. not to mention a fraggin classic.

I absolutely love "The Umbrella Academy", which is written by Gerard Way and drawn by Gabriel Ba.
I usually don't buy that many print comics, but I've started getting into Terry Moore's "ECHO", as well as the DC title "Terra".

If my local comic shop carried it, I would probably check out "The Incredibles" as well.

But that's pretty much it, as far as floppies go. I will also occasionally re-read some of my anthologies, trade paperbacks, and collections. Such as the complete volume of Jeff Smith's "Bone", or Brian Wood's comics ("Local", and "Demo" ). I've also got all the volumes of the Flight anthologies, and they are a constant source of inspiration for me. They were probably the first print comics that I bought, actually.

Hmmm... Tough question as I really don't know what type of books you like.

I"ll give you a few books I'm enjoying as of late.

Wolverine: Old Man Logan. Wolverine as an old pacifist in the future after all of the Marvel heroes have been killed. Awesome so far.

Incognito: A new story from Ed Brubaker about a Supervillian who becomes a hero. It just started, so still a lot to be explained. First 3 issues have been great.

Secret Six: I think it's DC's best book. A group of mercenaries. It doesn't even feel like it's a DC book. I love it.

One more.

I also really like the new Punisher book where he's been put back in the Marvel U. It's been super fun so far.

Those are just a few of my current faves.

I don't have a comic book store anywhere near me so I usually order comics off websites or buy graphic novels. I'm really into horror comics like the Walking dead. I also got the graphic novel for Wake the dead. Its pretty good. I also started buying old issues of the Punisher and i'm really diggin it.

i'm reading up on the deadpool series.

id recommend the new run on spawn for anyone whos into digital inking...mcfarlane has a cintiq and the results are simply stunning. this book is gorgeous to look at.

I like to read Captain America. Although I kinda stopped buying when they started the whole, "Secret Invasion" plot. It got too confusing, and stupid to me, personally.

Street Fighter by Udon is also amazing. The colors are always fantastic, the story is amazing as well.

Usagi Yojimbo is another favorite of mine. Just the way he draws is amazing.

Not sure if it counts, but Afro Samurai as well. I'm confused as to if it'd be a manga, or a graphic novel. Who knows, but yeah. Love it.

I also love the Walking Dead.

I'm pretty irregular with new titles and since I'm mostly broke these days I end up reading collections of old comics that my friends have amassed (and few of them have AMAZING collections when it comes to quantity of books).

Just read Warren Ellis' Anna Mercury, currently reading Bizarro Comics, to be followed with Bizarro World (both being anthologies of DC superhero stories drawn and written by mostly underground cartoonists like Tony Millionaire, Paul Pope, Dean Haspiel, Bill Wray, Evan Dorkin, Andy Watson, D'Israeli, Scott Morse, James Kochalka, Gilbert Hernandez and like 50 or so others and I mentioned only artists and not even all of them).

As for monthlies, I try to stay on time with Walking Dead and The Sword.

Aaugh! I haven't had the time to sit down and read something much to my dismay! I've been chipping away at From Hell by Alan Moore, next on my list is Bone by Jeff Smith. I'll admit that I'm reading Bone in hopes of regaining the nerd cred that I lost by not reading it. I just finished Otto Zeplin by B.T. Livermore, Free Comic Book Day Editions of Owly and Friends and Sounds of Your Name by Nate Powell. Sitting on my bookcase and unfortunately mostly unread is Capacity by Theo Ellsworth and issue 9 of Papercutter.

Expenses have been tight for a while, so I've been trying to refrain from buying too many comics. -_- I do love Runaways, though. (But I don't like the new writer and artist they have now...alas.)

I recently picked up Shirow Miwa's "Dogs" prelude volume 0, didn't think it was coming to the states so I was surprised to see it on a bookshelf. For my birthday I received three more issues of Berserk, still waiting on two back orders. Just a personal favorite.

Last month I attended a small comic convention that had a huge sale... it was fun seeing all the old thundercats, red sonja, xmen, spiderman, heman, conan etc. but I felt like the king of the mountain when I dug up Moebius's Arzach. I just wanted to run around the tables and smack all the buyers in the face with it, "TAH MoEBIuS! eat that!" ofc I'm sure none of them would know what it was. Unfortunately I didn't find any of Migola's work. (wtf) Penniless as I was I had a friend accompany me to hold me back from clearing out the Clive Barker and Fall of Cthulhu in the horror section. (slightly regret it now)

I just got done re-reading Akira for the fourth time. I've just moved back onto Bleach. First few volumes were pretty good, and it's nice to remember why. While at the same time sad as now I know what it's become (lolDragonballz).

I haven't found anything worth my time of late. Almost all the comic books in my local shops are superhero books and they never interested me. Otherwise, it's these self-aggrandizing, ultra-introspective graphic novels that are just incredibly slow-paced and seem to be more about getting main stream readers. The old classics like Usagi Yojimbo I can't even find the ones I need to complete my collection.

I can't even find the books I already own. They're in a box somewhere and I noticed that without all that stuff in front of me, my interest in picking up comics has waned.

It failed in second Mortal Kombat movie and it fails here too... And no artist can help that :P

I can't say I'm very fond of Madureira's style but it's a matter of taste so I won't argue. Personally I preferred Hitch's work on first two series.

Artistic marsterpiece = anything by Philippe Druillet.

Lately I've been readin the Nerconomicon. Worth checking out, Borders should carry it, IIRC.

Just picked up Hack/Slash omnibus 2. I think that and the Walking dead are two of my favorites.

In all seriousness, everyone is entitled to their personal taste. But Jeph Loeb has been one of the worst comic writers I've read lately.

I read the first issue of Ultimates 3 and threw it in the trash afterwards. I can appreciate Joe Mad's style and even enjoy it. But that couldn't keep me reading that trash.

I mean the scene where all of The Ultimates were sitting around watching Tony Stark's sex tape was laughable. WTF Loeb?

I really liked the most recent Umbrella Academy mini. I'm not a fan of My Chemical Romance so this book was a tough sell for me. A friend had to force me to read it and I'm glad she did.

I think Scalped is pretty much the best book on the stands right now. Jason Aaron writes up some really nasty noir stories. I'm really fond of Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillip's Criminal/Incognito for the same reason.

Jeff Parker is my new favorite writer at the moment. Mysterius the Unfathomable is a really terrific under-the-radar mini-series that everyone should take a look at. His run on Exiles is off to a fun start and I really dig Agents of Atlas.

I'm an unapologetic Garth Ennis nut and I read The Boys month in and month out. I'm also a big Warren Ellis fan and I'm really looking forward to the next Anna Mercury mini. (Astonishing X-Men would be better if it came out on time. I'd even be okay with bi-monthly)

I loved Fred Van Lente's run on Wolverine: First Class. It's the only Wolverine comic worth a damn to me right now. Peter David has taken it over and he's doing a solid job thus far.
