What personal video game "challenges" have you taken up?

So you have a favorite game. So far you think you know so much about it, in and out. All the secrets, all the tactics... and it's kinda making you bored. So you decide you're going to use that knowledge and skill to do things in the game that you've been told are impossible... just for the heck of it (though it'd probably be more motivating if there was an achievement/trophy for that challenge and no one has claimed it yet).

As I've mentioned in the rant thread, I've decided on taking on a challenge in R-Type Final. Pilot the crappiest ship in the game through the hardest stage playing in the hardest difficulty level. I'll admit it is very hard, especially since I purposely "gimped" my ship setup to make it even more challenging. None of the ship's weapons fire upwards at all. I switched bits to the ones that don't fire forward, and a missile weapon that shoots straight down (the other weapon happens to be homing missiles).

As for the stage, it's not only hard because there's so much shooting at you. There are no continue points in it, it's a very long LONG STAGE. So if I die in that stage, I start all over from the beginning. Heh... I'll eventually make a Youtube video of it when I finally complete this frustrating challenge. I suspect that it was designed to be played with the most advanced ships in the game... their wave cannons do grievous damage to the enemy while my chosen ship's wave cannon shoots... acid?!? I wonder what it'd be like if it shot LSD (which is an acid and an illegal hallucinogen)...

How about you gamers out there? Any challenges in the past that you've gone after? Or are you planning on taking on one soon? :)

For me, right now... Catching 'em all. I'm trying to get all of those Pokemons and I'm getting pretty close. There are so many!

I can't even pass stage F-C, let alone use that piece of junk ship.

I am doing a natural abilities only run of FF6. It's a pain not having access to certain spells, but it hasn't been too bad.
That's "Dr. BlkKnight" to all of you.

Goodness, considering they're so far into the series and how each iteration adds about fifty or so...that is some task!

As for me, I'm a bit of an achievement whore you could say. Have to get all of them before I really feel I put in the right amount of time for a game. It's somewhat of a burden though, considering half of those are more time-based achievements rather than skill-based so it becomes more of a grind! I have to get them anyway.

So out of all the achievements I've earned, I'd say the most significant challenge I've taken up is nothing that boasts skill at all, but instead sheer perseverance much, much patience.

So the achievement is called Little Rocket Man and is part of Half-Life: Episode 2. And if you own the game, I'm sure you took a look at that thinking, "who in their right mind would go to that much trouble..."

Well I did. I wouldn't do it again though. ;)
