I've recently discovered Blackfield and managed to drive my vacation-roommate crazy by listening to them at least once per day. I'd heard Cloudy Now before, but forgotten about it, so there was much joy when I heard that one.

Air is, well, a French electronica band that is quite well known and The Helio Sequence is a small indie electronica/shoegazer band. Think The Postal Service, except the music is more eccentric.

The type of electronica Air plays is downtempo. Think of Air as a late-night chill-out session that transends from electronica to indie pop rock. (instruments they use include Moog synthesizers, the Korg MS-20, Wurlitzer, Vocoder and more).
