What music do you listen to when you draw?

I'm curious about what type of music you listen to when you draw, if you listen to music at all. I used to strictly listen to hip-hop but now I'm trying to branch out and listen to new music. I've been getting in to alternative music and I must say I regret not listening to this earlier in my life. Classical music is also in my play list these days, like Mozart, Bach and such. I guess when I realized that relaxation is key to creativity I switched up my music. So what do you guys listen to?

Alt-rock, post-rock, trance, industrial, hip-hop, j-rock, ambient, shoegazer. Anything mellow or melancholy is good. Lately I've been into Jesu.

I listen mainly to The Shins. Lots and lots of The Shins. So mainly poetic, mellow music. I also listen to Streetlight Manifesto, Rise Against and Zebrahead. So I've also had my healthy share of energetic music while I'm drawing.
But the types and bands that help me allot when I draw are Coldplay and maybe a bit of jazz.

I listen to everything and anything. My music list covers anything from OC Remix of things (including Illusion of Gaia FTW!, to 80's, to new age, to some rap...which isn't my favorite, but I have the ones I like on there.

Sometimes, though, even with over four gigs of music, I just can't find what I feel like listening to and I skip through the playlist until I find something I want to listen to.

Lots of Keane and Gorillaz, then mix in a little Bowie and add a half cup of The Beatles. Blend Well and garnish with a bit of Pinback.

A mix of Saosin, Ill Scarlett, 2nd & 3rd wave Ska, maybe a little bit of death metal like Black Dahlia Murder and toss in a bit of 2pac to taste depending on the artwork desired and audience being tortured by my audio system.

J-pop/rock, classical music, or 80s music xD. Those genres give me the most inspiration I think :3.

Floppy; Siousxie and the Banshees; The Dresden Dolls; Curren 93; Encephalin; Sol Invictus; Laibach; 45 Grave; Blam Honey; Robert Crumb and the Cheap Suit Serenaders; Rammstein; Jack Off Jill; Death From Above 1979; XPQ-21; Diaframma; Zombina and the Skeletones; Type O Negative; Switchblade Symphony; Gallhammer; Mephisto Walz; Garbage; Ali Project; Sophor Aeternus and the Ensemble of Shadows; Despair; Pierrot Lunaire; Asian Dub Foundation; Shazna; Celtic Frost; Virgin Black; Yat-Kha; Venom; Another Cell; Zeni Geva; Vampire Beach Babes; Madeth Gray'll; Weezer; Lolita No. 18; Soman; Lullacry; Cinema Strange; Jucifer; X Marks the Pedwalk; Sons of All Pussys; Devine-Maiden; LeStat; Burial; Noir Fleurir; Snog; Arzt+Pfusch; Phantasmagoria; Lareine; Z.E.T.A. X; Ladytron; Cirith Ungol; Angelspit; Arcturus; Bathory; The Birthday Massacre; Demented Are Go!; Billy Corgan; Android Lust; Rasputina; Godflesh; The Piass; Baiser; Speed ID; Ulver; Underworld; Shinjuku Thief.

Yes, I should be doing something else than typing these :D

... oh, and quite often I listen to comics podcasts while drawing, currently for example I'm mostly going through Indie Spinner Rack :)

I tend to listen to various sorts of music when I'm writing, although they generally fit with the overall theme of the comic. Most of my classical fantasy stuff is done to Apocalyptica, while the steampunk works tend to get a mix of The Decemberists and The Raconteurs (and is thus the setting I enjoy most), and the more modern pieces get a strange blend of Lupe Fiasco and The Black Keys. I still haven't dug up anything for manga since J-Pop and J-Rock tends to just end up distracting me.

Added note, I'm listening to "Sargasso Sea" by Suzanne Ciani as I write this. Absolutely beautiful song.

The only thing I think I haven't listened to is any urban or hip hop music, but just about everything else I'm game to listening to while I work. I actually prefer classical music or movie scores. Wordless music is better.

I don't like listening to music as I draw, since I usually stop drwing once I start hearing it.

But, I have listened to classical before while drawing.

Most of it is what I'm in the mood for at the time.

- My favorite jrock gets me through projects well enough...
- ...but video game OSTs do moreso. Particularly Persona 4's and No More Heroes' right now.

It's mostly that and lots of Bjork/Sigur Ros right now. Looots.

I have my playlist on random, but I usually play songs that I feel like playing. It never really mirrors my mood. Sometimes I'll play My Chemical Romance and Linkin Park just for the hell of it. Last strip I drew, I had the best of the Beatles on, before that it was Queen. And before that, it was the Rolling Stones, U2 and Greenday all jumbled up together.

I don't draw, but when I'm writing I listen to various soundtracks, ambient music, some rock and usually drop WMP onto random.

I never listen to music. I feel like a complete weirdo in my generation because I don't. I don't dislike music or anything (in fact, it's the only think that kept me sane when I had a job), but it isn't part of my routine.

I leave the TV on when I draw. Let it play in the background.
