I love it. I create because I breathe. I'd be less than alive if I didn't tell my stories. It's great if someone reads them & is kind enough to offer feedback, but I'd do it if only I read them. I guess I'm just hardwired that way.
IMO, fame is a poor reason to do anything, 'cuz then the work is less sincere than if it's created from the love of just doing it. It's always easy to tell when someone's in it for the adoration. They tend to lack the drive to carry it out unless someone is praising them, so their work tends to be very inconsistent. Fame only last so long, and then you've gotta chase it like the next high. No thanks.

Chip

The deadline, mostly. I don't want readers to be disappointed, so I get off my behind and draw!
As for ideas, I draw a story comic, and the story develops much faster in my mind than I could possibly draw it - it can take weeks to finish one scene. I guess that comes in handy. ^^

cs3ink -- I wholeheartedly agree! What motivates me? Well, watching films and reading books and comics from creators I find inspiring helps. Talking to other creators about their own work gives me a little fire to go out and keep working on my own stories. Communities and Forums like this help to remind us that we're not alone and there's others that have similar dreams and goals. And I think that's fantastic!
