My ten year marriage anniversary is March of next year and I figured I'd go ahead and share my idea for Ethan's gift. It's not like he EVER plays in forums, he'll never see this, so he'll not know. (Those of you that know him, that read this had better not tell him either, or you'll have me to deal with and you know you don't want none of that!)

A few months ago I was looking through one of Ethan's sketchbooks and I found a page labeled, "Hottest Comic Book Chicks, According to Me." He had drawn several characters I knew on site and a few I didn't recognize...but, have since...wormed, squeezed, and netteled out of him. So, here's what I'm doin'.

I am making a cool baker's dozen of different costumes and my buddy Kit, who runs Secret Willow Photography , is gonna take pictures of me all gussied up in each, which I will then make into a calendar for him. Cool huh? Well it's not FOR YOU, now is it? He'll freakin' love it. (Then I'll have plenty of costumes to attend every 'Con in style.) Plus, I'm interested in photography myself and I already have contacts with several local "dancers" who are excited about posing in the costumes when I'm done, so I can start building up my portfolio.

Who are the comic legends? Well, let's take a peek:

Supergirl's gonna' be the cover, only with a Dean Cain style costume change in progress, pullin' off the glasses, a sexy suit over the spandex, glasses askew. Like she's takin' off.

January, Gen 13's, Caitlin Fairchild. Now, I'm not a huge Gen 13 fan, it's okay...(I do like J. Scott Campbell's art...) But, I'm not to jazzed about this one, the shoes are impossible and really, girls, shouldn't the shoes really be the best thing about the outfit?

February, I'm goin' with Vampirella, I know...Shouldn't you do her in October, for Halloween. No...It's about the blood. Ask no more. Vampires say Valentines to me. (I have been working out daily for two hours at a stretch, I'll pull it off...maybe.)

March is the actual month of my anniversary so...I know Husband LOVES Flash and Green Lantern. I'm doin' a chick version for each then I'm gonna' photoshop them playing...Like Flash stealing her ring off her finger or something as she runs by...or snatching her lantern. Which I know will irk Husband because that would be unforgivable to him. (Think Emerald Twilightish for Green Lantern and just a sexy chick Flash instead.) I'm most likely going with dancewear for Flash and mostly dancewear for Lantern, except maybe a green leather vest or something similar. Haven't decided.

April showers...Sue Storm...I know Husband likes that outfit up there the best...But, I like the blue with the emblem on the chest. I'll probably go with his ideal though.

May, Mystique. He's been in love with that image since he was thirteen. Who am I to deny a little liquid laytex for my man. (And hopefully a couple of good girlfriends that don't mind painting my ass.)

June, what guy doesn't like Ms. Marvel (Plus, she's and easy one.) My buddy Ana Aesthetic is providin' this one for me. (Don't know her? You really should.)

July, What say's America better? I've already started with this, a sexy little red and white waist cincher corset...Blue leo, with white star...I've also got a buddy whose gonna try metalworking the shield for me.

August, I am no where near Amazonian...But, what collection would be complete. I used to have Wonder Woman Underoos. (Does anyone else remember underoos?) Throw on a wig I'll pass.

September, Rachel Summers...Husband isn't a big Jean Grey fan, (Unless I want to go as "The Black Queen." (Hell, I think I can do that costume on cue...) But, I know he has a thing for Rachel...(How fun will this costume be?)

October, Batgirl...See, bats go with Halloween. I'm most likely gonna' buy this one, 'cause the ones available look fine and I have a lot on my plate.

November, Lady Death...Yep, the Queen of Chaos. The pictures from this set may not be appropriate for internet viewing...Depends on how thin I can get, no?

December, the always enchanting Emma Frost. Husband thinks the White Queen is the epitome of sex amongst the x-clans, well her and Mystique.

Robin, Chase and Sparks are just in reserve...In case I run short. So there you have it.

So, here is your question...If you could have your woman do something like this for you: What twelve would you choose and who'd be your cover? Although you don't have to answer anything of the sort. What's the neatest costume you've seen at a CON? Or are you working on anything like this?

(In defense of my choices...He's seen me in Catwoman, Harley, Ivy, Black Cat, plus many more...So, these are all ones that are new to me. Plus, I just don't wanna' dress up like Kahvi (where am I gonna' get a wolf? I don't care if he's had a crush since he was ten.) or something people he shows won't recognize...So, don't rag on my choices...just share yours.)

I have twelve women to have dress up as twelve different superheroes.

Also, I'm not delusional at all.

12 superwomen, eh?

Well...

Wonderwoman
Jean Grey/Phoenix
Storm
Emma Frost
Kitty Pride
Bat Girl
SpiderWoman
Princess Leah (from the Star Wars comic books)
Lady Deathstrike
Scarlett Witch
Rouge
Harley Quinn

Jean Grey/Phoenix would need to be my cover (unless I married an African American woman, then Storm).
Updates Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday's (depends).

I have a question regarding the gender reversal costumes... What sane man would want to see a sexy female version of heroic male icons such as Capt. America?

Isn't that kinda like wanting to see your father or your coach or your sarge, in your girlfriend's lingerie?

Or, just as bad, wanting to see your girlfriend in your father's underwear???

That's just my line of thought...

Not at all. It's seeing a hot chick represent all that a particular character stands for.

Don't be shocked! I dressed up like Black Cat two years ago at Halloween. So, been done. (Luckily, I found this PVC place that I can score a bodysuit for $65 bucks! Woo Hoo! I swore after I shelled out $500 for my Grendel costume (four years ago? I think it was four...) I'm not payin' dick for Fetish Wear!

My night job is at a printing press. And it's that calendar time of year (I think I've worked on four this month so far).

Normally they're fun. But 2008's a Leap Year. All my numbers are off. I keep having to update the days by hand.

:(

If this is crazy, I don't want to be sane.

Lady Death... All white skin with blank eyes, LOTS of hair and mountains of boob... I dunno. Her look is more her entire body isn't it? Her "costume" is a black bikini and cape? Seems a hard one to "dress" in, lots of white paint/body make-up to wash out of every crevice... The gigantic wig etc.

Oh, Photoshop would prolly make her easy peasy though I suppose.

What a great wife! Any wife who would dress up as Wonder Woman, Ms. Marvel, and Fairchild is ace in my book.

My only complaint: WHERE'S POWERGIRL?! What about Psylocke, Zatanna Zatara, or Black Canary? I would seriously consider doing any of these girls rather than ones like Lady Death an Jean Gray.
