Well, as I said:
At least it sounds that way.

It's the way it's written.

But this has evolved into a nice little energetic chat. I don’t think it really matters what KC3T LV actually wrote now, the discussion with JKline is the fun bit.
And hey, it’s encouraging him to participate in the forums more so it’s not a bad thing, is it?

-and look at all my crappy grammar up there... :?
That’s embarrassing. I'm going to fix it.

Clarification and forging ahead eh? It looks like what it looks like and that’s why I left that qualification: “At least, that’s what it looks like”.
I think that pretty much covers my particulars as regards the real intentions of the author.

My “Jebus” exclamation and related points are following on the theme of the thread that was evolving. It’s not so much an individual response, as a general response to the ideas under review, using my idiosyncratic writing style.

Now, if you’re basically talking about Manga VS American comics, “ethnicity” is too general a term unless it’s qualified: Which ethnicity?
I do appreciate the attempted save there, It’s coherent and nicely assembled but it’s verging on a response to a whole other thread…

I’m glad you’ve chosen to shed your lurker’s cloak on this occasion. :D
As for KC3T LV, he can take it as a lesson to phrase his posts a bit better in future.

-edit- Nah-hahahah-haha! I've chosen to leave you the dignity of the last word. :-D
Because that was quite a long post down there. Nice chatting with you and I'm glad you've further expanded on what appeared to be your main interest in the topic. You clearly had a lot to bring to the table.

I think that..in a lot of ways the act of having sex is taboo. Nudity and sex on the tv isn't prohibited because whether or not it's taboo to commit the act, everyone knows it exists. Why bother censoring? That's my feeling on it. I also think it's kind of society's way of letting loose, since the way of life there is so much more strict and "polite."

In either case..I read a few american comics: Sandman, and FABLES. Fables is one of my favorite comics XD I think at points it can sort of lag, but hey..I love fairy-tale based stories. I also have the graphic novel of "Legends from Darkwood" - which is an american-made manga-style comic, and is very spooky/bloody and, of course, full of fantasy creatures like unicorns. XD!

For japanese comics, I like One Piece, Fullmetal Alchemist, MARS (which is relationship based, but I like it anyways), Alichino (for the art) and Count Cain.

The last good volume of BOTI was vol.13 Mirror of the Soul. The author wasted an incredibly good opportunity on story potential borne from the end of vol.13, and was just dragging his feet thru 14 and 15.

I was about to give up on BOTI but the current storyline is pretty interesting. There are doctors who have Manji trapped and are experimenting on him to transfer his healing ability. They cut his arm off and stick someone else's on, then give that arm back, etc. Gruesome stuff. :)

I don't really read superhero comics anymore. I feel that the superhero in its current form is too inherently silly to be portrayed as seriously as DC and Marvel are going for, not to mention the fact that keeping up with them is really hard on the wallet these days.

The Tick is very good; it's kind of like the old cartoon show only it goes a lot deeper and has a continuing story. It's kind of gone downhill in quality over the years. I stopped picking it up around the time when they started Golden Age Tick. Ugh.

I have a sweet spot for Elfquest. It's really cheesy at times. They've been reprinting it manga-size. After superhero books took over it was popular enough to help establish the independant market, so it's interesting in a historical way.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned Sandman yet. It's really good.
