I help story board a comic with my friends.
It doesn't really have a plot, Mainly its humor.
But with a completely random comic like this would it be better to have our own domain name or post it here??

Without further details, I'd say post it here. It's free after all, and you add advertising, so its a win-win.

To get into more detail, it mainly a comic of my two friends and me.
It's usually about what happened during the day or crazy ideas for the strip.
We don't have a lot done and the one who ink the comic is Slooooooooow.
Is there any other details you need?

If you get a domain and all for a comic that is only gonna be funny to the few people involved and is going to depend on several people's free time to do it, you're going to be wasting money :) I mean that in the nicest way possible.

My advice would be to go for it and get a domain. I think folks are talking about a couple different things here when referring to a domain, the term is often used interchangeably with getting your own website.
Getting your own domain name will only cost 5 or 6 bucks a year and will make it much easier to advertise your comic, even if it's just to your own friends. You can set that domain name to point directly to your comic hosted here on Drunk Duck and you're set.
I would also say you should consider the alternative meaning, and have your own website as well. This will take a bit more work and learning on your part but will build skills that will come in handy later. You can also get away with hardly any initial investment here. I currently use netfirms. If you go to this site http://www.netfirms.com/mac it's a special promo code from some of their magazine advertisements. You can get full webhosting and 2 domain names for $10 for the first year. Try it out. If you want to keep going past the year the costs are still pretty reasonable. I've been very satisfied with it so far.
Set your site up with some kind of ad revenue like Project Wonderful (I recommend) and it very well could pay for itself.
If you do make a website, don't think of where to post your comic as an either/or proposition. Put it up both using your own webpage system and here at Drunk Duck. Link your content here at the Duck back to your homesite and mention on your site that your comic along with many other great creators stuff is posted here. Help lead new members to the community and let the community lead folks back to your personal site.
Just my thoughts, all of which I've done myself. I may be wrong in my approach but I'm not trying to steer you wrong!

How exactly do you set the domain name to go to your DrunkDuck account? I've been searching for that in the help section for hours now.
I wouldn't recommend a new webcomic artist to start a website. I did that, and it's been nothing but a fiasco. I went through Godaddy, and the entire process is a pain. You've got to code the pages, upload them along with the css and all that entails, wait for the server to stop sucking so you are able to upload it all. Also, new webcomics have a hard time attracting visitors, and it's even harder when your website is in some random spot on the super highway. Setting it up with Drunk Duck is much easier, there's a built-in audience (other webcomic artists) and (the best part) it's free! And you get to keep ownership! Huhzah!!!
Seeing as a forked over the cash for the domain name, I figure I'll use it for my drunkduck account (as soon as I figure out how).

You need to do a web domain redirect to have you domain point to Drunkduck. This is done on your domain side but there are a few third parties that can do it too, but I would'nt recommend it. Check your domain host, it should be free.

I started out at DD and after almost a year, I got a domain for Due East and a hosting account at Godaddy.com for pretty cheap. So now I have both the DD and I have http://www.dueeastcomic.com
DD still gets more traffic and way more comments but it's nice to have an independent, ad-free mirror site that I can fully customize.

I think own domain is not a way to go in the beginning. I mean: how are people supposed to come to your site? Why?
Also with humor but no plot you're more likely to get instant attention but it may be one of relatively short spin. (people could get fast from "this page is hilarious" to "why the hell am I reading this shit" in a few pages). With a plot it may be more difficult to get readers but they're more likely to stay.
I'd say go for a community, whether here or somewhere else you like/feel more in topic (or in more places) but your own domain will be suicide.

This.
But, if you've been developing the comic publicly and already have supporters, teasers, buildup and all that, starting off with a domain may be fantastic. Domains are awesome, after all - they point only to you.

do both.
Yes.
Keep in mind, if it's aimed at a few people, don't bother. If you want to get as many as you can, do both. I have my own website along with hosting the comic here on Drunk Duck. I just have it so most of the bonus stuff is at my website so people interested in my work will go over there and check it out as well. That, and not everyone's gonna go by Drunk Duck first. I got people that never heard of this place and sooner go to my main site.
