What difficulty do you play Guitar Hero at?

^topic

I ask this cause for the past days I've had the game I've been playing at medium and today I just started trying to ease myself into hard mode. And it's...hard. Very hard. That extra fret button is what gets me cause you have to keep shifting your fingers up and down more. There just seems to be a huge gap of difficulty between the two levels, and it's usually that way with all rhythm games especially Dance Dance Revolution. So what difficulty do you play at?

I'm playing on hard right now, though I remember when I first switched from medium to hard, it took ages for me to get used to the extra fret button...

Hard mode, though I haven't played in a while so I'm probably back down to medium.

I got discouraged when the whammy bar broke.

I've only ever played it on Easy. But I don't own it, I played it at a friend's. So I have an excuse!

Medium. I just got it a few weeks ago when my brother brought my PS2 home from college. I did beat easy in, like, three days though. Three school days. Witn not much game time in each.
Why hello there.

I could beat you all in stepmania (nothing to be proud of). I've played guitar hero for a total of about 2 hours, so I can only beat the first couple groups of songs on hard. (I'm leaving out the fact that I've played FoF before.)

I'm trying with futile effort in Hard mode.

I finished hard mode last week and am now trying to make my way through Expert. I've passed the first couple tiers of songs.

I'm also doing that other comic "Space Waffles ".

The track list was way better in Didgeridoo Hero 1 than 2.

I'm about half way through Hard Mode. That extra fret just doubles the difficulty. Though at the point I'm at, I can pass a few songs on expert as well.

I liked Guitar Freaks and Um Jammer Lammy better. I play hyper mode on expert and hit 100% perfect or 99% on most every song I've played. I don't like the game though. In fact,I hate Guitar Hero, 1 & 2. I think its a shitty rhythm game with a faggoty gimmick controller. Its just not my kind of game at all. It looks like ass and no one dies.

No one dies? Well, if you just take that guitar controller and whack your friends head, then you'll get some results. It's heavy enough, right?

Anyway, enough about that. I agree that Um Jammer Lammy was a little better (it actually had a PLOT) But the control of GH is in no way gimmicky. It's kind of like the Dance pad for DDR, it's meant for you to put more of yourself into the game. The main game of Guitar Hero does need some work but they have a good thing going with the guitar controller. Or maybe it's just because I've always wanted a Guitar and the closest thing I'll ever get to it is GH. *sigh*

I said the controller was a "gimmick controller" as in a non-standard controller thats outrageously expensive and only works with one game.

That's the truest statement about Guitar Hero I've heared in a long time.

i love the descriptive term of a faggoty gimmick controller.

it makes me want to play time crisis with my faggoty gimmick orange gun.

or bang on some faggoty gimmick taiko drum master drums.

or do the 100-meter relay in Track and Field on my faggoty gimmick NES power pad.

or even stack some things with my faggoty gimmicky NES ROB. that queermo.

(I'm not mocking you. seriously. i'm just saying that the term to describe a useless video game peripheral really makes me laugh.)

that was my off-topic tirade on useless one-shot controllers.

---anyway, i've never heard of Um Jammer Lammy, but i am wanting to check it out.

//medium. i suck.

I've wrapped GH1 but I'm still on hard for GH2.

i played guitar hero 1 and 2 on Hard and Expert, that's it. Myself being a musician who actively plays Bass, electric, and acoustic guitars. I dont mean that to sound cocky, i'm just stating that i never went below hard, the solo's where wierd when u only had strum once but it actually played four or five notes, that always threw me off so i just bumped right up to hard.

Actually, since on the guitar hero controller you only focus on a small area of the neck, i was able to durastically improve my fingering speed on a real guitar.
