This is a writing and art forum... So what are you reading at the moment? :-D

(Not including comics because there's already a forum for it)

Ok, I'll start (hopefully I won’t be the only one :wink: );
At the moment I'm reading The Greek Myths by Robert Graves.
But before that it was East of Midnight by Tanith Lee, a fantasy novel for younger readers I think. One of her earlier efforts and not too bad.
Surprisingly, it was based on the historical misconceptions about moon-worshipping/king-sacrificing matriarchies that Graves mentions in his forward for The Greek Myths!

Currently, The Twenty-Seventh City by Jonathan Franzen (spelled his name wrong, surely). I just finished Carter Beats The Devil by Johnathan David Gold (or something like that) which was very entertaining... before that was The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet, which was really excellent. :) And... before that was the Sabriel/Lirael/Abhorsen trilogy by Garth Nix. Also good, though the last book was fairly predictable.

I would highly recommend Pillars of the Earth, though... if you are into medieval life and cathedrals and stuff.

College Text Books...exciting eh?

Would it be okay if I said what I was reading before the semester started (cause I don't read personal stuff during the semester...)?

Wow, I'm reading that as well. I finished House of Leaves a while ago and it referenced it alot so I thought I should read it.

That was a pretty strange book. I'll admit to skipping huge chunks of it though, as the only storyline I was really interested in was the actual house bits. :)

If you like House of Leaves, you might like the Time Traveler's Wife, which is another complex and convoluted book, plot-wise. It didn't strike me as a particularly girly book, although it does revolve around the relationship between two people. It's a very strange relationship if it helps.

I am reading through Goethe's Faust for the sixth time, he is the best writer of all time if you ask me. I finished Iliaden as soon as yesterday, a great book as well.

Modern writers have nothing compared to the old masters.

Why Girls Can't Throw by Mitchell Symons.

A really good book if you want to know useless facts like the benefits of smoking and the reason why insects aren't fat.

This book taught me that three popes died during sex! :-D
