I usually draw to music. I find a TV show or a movie kind of distracting.
This morning I was polishing up a page for "Father Will Come And Set Me Free". I did it along to a late 60's album by the very underrated Billy Butler. Butler's a terrific jazz guitarist and if you're into soul-jazz folks like Grant Green, Brother Jack McDuff, or Motown-era Grover Washington Jr. you should check him out.
Other recent soundtracks to my drawing sessions include Isaac Hayes, Lyrics Born, Maynard Ferguson, Alice in Chains, and The Easy Star All-Stars.

Pandora's "Pop/Rock" channel, which for some reason plays a lot of Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, and Police. Which suits me just fine. :)

When I'm drawing, I usually like listening to something I can chill to, like soft rock or instrumental music. I got the Coraline soundtrack a little while ago, and I've been listening to that a lot these days while working on my comic.

Well, every once in a while I'll google "Swat Kats" or "Biker Mice from Mars", but generally, I love my hard rock music.
Mastodon is one of my favorites.
Especially, "Blood and Thunder", "Oblivion", "Aqua Dementia", and "The Wolf is Loose"
Rob Zombie, another fave.
"American Witch", "Two-Lane Blacktop", "Thunderkiss '65" (yes, I'm aware that is a White Zombie song :P), and "Dragula" are among my favorites.
and last but not least, Daft Punk.
Pretty much any song off of Discovery, or Human After All.
Alive 2007 is also fantastic.
I seem to listen to Daft Punk the most when I draw. Gets me motivated, and inspired.

I find wierd/artsy music to be the most inspirational, so it's Trail of Dead, Explosions In The Sky, Porcupine Tree and so on for me.
Occasionally a little NIN and Incubus slip in.
Sometimes I do turn on the TV, but it slows my working pace down considerably.

Oh yeah! I remember that! There were those guys who had to find the gold city, and when they got there that creepy-ass priest guy made a dog out of stones and it had big glowy green eyes and probably inspired "Shadow of the Colossus" singlehandedly. Yeah...

any really creative movies like eternal sunshine or science of sleep... across the universe... or movies with hipster soundtracks like rushmore or garden state.
as far as music, again, the weirder the better. aphex twin, boards of canada, autechre, tom waits, blah blah blah, this could go on forever...
you know why birds don't write their memoirs? because birds don't lead epic lives, that's why. who'd want to read what a bird does? nobody. that's who.
