What about those of us with sprite comics?!

My friend and I both had sprite comics on DD, Southtown Express and Final Fantasy 3.1, respectively. Now that they're gone, we've spent the last month looking for alternate places to host our comic, with no luck. Every single comic hosting site out there either restricts you to manga or says in big, bold letters "NO SPRITE COMICS". As unfair as it is, there isn't a damn thing I can do about it.

My question is: Does anyone have a clue where sprite comic artists can host their comic?

Or am I going to have to wait till I have my own domain name to post again?

Well, I've started my account and I don't think I'll have a problem. If I get kicked off later (like I did on DeviantArt) for copyright violations, I'll be sure to let you guys know.

Otherwise, you're my hero!!!

Submit them to www.bobandgeorge.com as fancomics when they have an open slot for them.

Not all the comics on DD were sprite comics. Sure, a vast majority of them were but not all of them. I loved this place for its talented artists and creative writers. Anyway I also don't think sprite comics should be outcasted here or at any other site. Some people have great skill at spriting and the writing is even better. Some of us just don't have creative skill to pick up a pencil and make a masterpiece even after several attempts. It's not hard for me because I think my art is okay, I just don't have a scanner. I say if the writing is in n00b, the blasted recolors keep showing up and the cliche Bob and George plot rears its head, then I say you have the write to complain.

Actually the vast majority of them were not sprite comics. The vast majority were manga. I tried counting them once.

Yes. Sprite comics can suck. but then, Sprite comics can kick serious ass...
For those of you looking for the latter, go to www.bobandgeorge.com/

For those of you looking for the former, Google Elftor.

For those of you looking for what appears to be a decent server, check out Myrmid. Geocities is usually a mistake.

For those who haven't found their option yet, please stay on the line...

Actually the vast majority were bastardized psuedo-manga.

I'll have to agree with Liriel on this one.
None of the DD comics I read were sprite comics. And there are a lot of legal issues involved, even if you aren't making money on them.

I'm also doing that other comic "Space Waffles ".
We now have a podcast called The Random Pirate Comics Show!

true...true... even if I am a sprite comic author, I have found comics on drunk duck that weren't sprite comics, such as Angry D Monkey.

I wonder sometimes why so many sprite comics are terrible, or perhaps I've just been unfortunate enough to almost always run into awful ones, or if I'm subconsciously predisposed to dismissing any sprite comic based on the general assumption that, if it's sprite, then it automatically sucks...

Not eveyone has access to a scanner. I can draw, but I still want to make comics. And not everyone can draw, but they still want to make comics. I can draw damn well in MS Paint too, but that can get frustrating fast.

Why is it that people who do nothing but bash sprite comics haven't figured this out yet? They read ONE strip and then flame it. SOME comics deserve it, others don't and are pretty good.

And I can honestly tell you that no one hates bad sprite comics more then authors of good sprite comics. Bad sprite comics give their comic a bad reputation.

I used to do a sprite comic, despite the fact that I can draw and do draw a comic... I wanted to do a sprite comic though because I wanted to try my hand at doing a sprite comic. I wanted to see what I could create within the strengths and limitations of the media...

Yeh don't need a scanner to do computer-generated drawings! I certainly don't make use of one... if yer able to draw in MS Paint, then I imagine you'd find it much easier and more rewarding to draw in a program like Photoshop or Paintshop... and if yeh can't get hold of those, there's always the GIMP (http://www.gimp.org/), [gimp.org] which is free no less! :-D

I'm sure evryone wouldnt hate Sprite if they pulled out some original plot instead of the same shit evry time wich I get tired as hell of reading, same jokes same story. And if your "lucky" you get different characters wich is also rare.

bring me something original and I'll stop hating you.

I'm waiting for everyone who hates sprite comics to fall through into the twilight Zone and end up as megaman sprites.

It's going to be a looooooooong wait..... :?
