Dude... Other Blade of the Immortal fans. I knew I liked you guys! :) (Now if only the collected volumes would be released with some regularity.)

Otherwise, the other things on my current reading list include:
Claymore
Bleach
Deathnote
Blacksad ( I recently recieved two of the volumes as a gift)
Gargoyles. (I HATE buying single issue comics, but..but..For this, I made an exception. This series influenced me so much when I was younger. Now if only it'd come back to animation. :( )

Regular-ish Monthly Super Hero Comics I'm reading:

World War Hulk (the story is so simplistic. But I can't put the darn thing down)

Darwyn Cooke's The Spirit (sad to see he's leaving the title and the company)

The All-New Atom (hey, I know the artist, how cool is that?)

Moon Knight

Collected Volumes of comics I've been reading and enjoying:

- Jack Kirby's 4th World Omnibus (I love the choice of paper on this. It feels so right).

- The Golden Age Doctor Fate Archives (wow, who knew there were that many blatant Cthullu references in a 1940s More Fun feature?)

- Mouse Guard (picked it up for a friend, then absolutely had to read the hardbound volume myself).

I've had my eye on the hardbound Castle Waiting collection. Again, the choice of paper made me go "wow!" So maybe I'll be picking that up this coming week.

Things I'm looking forward to:

- Walt Simonson's Elric comic.

Stuff I'm currently reading:

The Ultimates 2
The Goon: Noir
Omega Flight mini series

That's actually all I'm reading at the moment. I plan to start picking up the "52" trades soon, but lately I've been spending far more time drawing than I have been reading.

Crime Pays, updating Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Yeah, but you have to pay "moneys" to "buy" them. It's a confusing process, I know, so I just stick to my safe little electronic haven.

I have been enjoying the Walking Dead lately and the Dark Horse Conan series. Udon's Street fighter is pretty and fun to read. I don't really follow to many series...just read what I find interesting on the shelf for a short while and move on.

I read nearly everything marvel puts out. Sometimes I'll wait a few months before I read stuff, so that I can read an entire story arc at once. Whenever I don't do it like that, I end up forgetting important plot points... anyway..

Punisher volume 5 aka Punisher MAX - In a continuation of the AMAZING Punisher Marvel Knights books from Garth Ennis, this version of the Punisher is the coolest one ever. A vietnam veteran pushed over the edge when his family is killed, Frank Castle has been fighting a personal war on crime for years. He doesn't fuck around. My favorite scene is when a very pricky guy says that all sorts of organizations were never able to interrogate him, the Punisher managed to break him in two minutes. How you ask? He put a knife into his eye and cut it out. Read Punisher, Welcome Back Frank (v3) - 12 Issues. Its in trade paperback and hardcover, not hard to find. Its the definitive Punisher story. Then read Punisher Marvel Knights (v4) its about 30-33 issues, almost all art done in one or two books. Not sure about trades. Highlights include fights with the returning Russian (who he fights in the movie, did I mention the movie is based on Welcome Back, Frank?) except here Spider-man is involved for comedic results. Also here is an encounter with Wolverine where the Punisher blows his face off with a shotgun then runs him down with a steam roller. Over in the MAX books (v5), there are NO other superheroes except for a version of Nick Fury. The Punisher has to fight a guy named Barracuda who is the definition of a great villain. He's better than the Russian, thats how great he is. The book has NEVER dissapointed me, it just hit 50 issues. I'd suggest picking up the trades. My favorite being the ones with Barracuda. He's just great.

Punisher MAX presents BARRACUDA - I just picked up this mini series the other day. It stars the Punisher MAX villain Barracuda as a "hero" doing hilarious things. In one scene he kills some guys and says "suck my black dick in hell." I laughed so hard I cried. I only read the first issue, in which a mob boss (who looks a lot like Christopher Walken) tasks Barracuda with helping his son whose got the blood disease where you bleed out from small wounds somewhere and possibly making the dorky runt into a cold blooded mafia killer. Barracuda accepts, with a big smile and laugh. As did I. I only read the first issue, but I really will finish this one once I get time.

All the ultimate universe: Ultimate Spider-man, Ultimate X-men, Ultimates, Ultimate Fantastic Four, Ultimate mini-series (gah lak tus, crossover books, etc) I've almost the entire universe of books collected up until this point, in the loose issues and trades. I like the idea of Ultimate marvel.

Marvels main universe: Ant-Man, New Avengers (oh shit skrulls!), Might Avengers (not Ultron AGAIN!), Avengers Initive, New Avengers Illuminati (I like this one a lot), World War Hulk and all its tie ins, Exiles, Wolverine and Wolverine Origins, Incredible Hulk, Thor v3, Punisher War Journal v2, Ghost Rider, Blade, Sub Mariners mini, Black Panther, Spider-man, Iron Man, Captain America, and many many more. To say that I like Marvel comics characters is a bit of an understatement.

Over at DC, I only read Vertigo or if I hear a good Batman story is out. I find most of DC's heroes lame by comparisson to marvel: Y The Last Man. Thats about the only current DC book I'd read, and even then I think I'll just wait until all 60 are out to finish it off. I stopped around 28ish.

Man, I wish I could agree but this series has lost me. The Joker story was PHENOMENAL (and it's cool to see the 3D program I use, Poser, being used professionally), but otherwise I 'm just not feeling it. Not sure why.

On the other hand I am LOVING Dini's Detective.

My other must-haves are All-Star Superman and Shanghai Cowboy, when they come out.

I also buy a lot of trades, since my list of monthlies is obviously pretty short.
Now updating without interruption, starting 2/16.

Overall, in all honesty, I'm a bit disappointed too. I didn't expect it to be Arkham Asylum Vol II or anything (although the Joker in the story you're talking about was clearly the AA version of the character), but I expected better. It's still good, though. I'll stick with it as long as Morrison's writing it.

Okay, the issue that came out today (667, I believe) nailed why I haven't been into this run. The art is amazing, but digging through all this reeeally old Batman canon (like this issue's international Club of Heroes, and the Batman & Son stuff) doesn't do anything for me. It seems really purposeless, not very well done and too obscure for most people to understand. I don't think the stories hold up without an extensive knowledge of the older stuff Morrison is referencing, and mocking them 50 years after the fact seems both easy, and pretty -- well -- geeky.
Now updating without interruption, starting 2/16.

I kno it might not count but I've found a site online that allows you to read old Superman comics...digitally redone

There is one called 'The K-metal from Krypton' that was original refused publishing because it showed Superman as having a weakness

It's only recently been remade(not completely finished yet)

I haven't seen that. Is the whole comic 3D, or just parts of it? And it's Andy Kubert who's doing this?

Just curious, being a Poser user myself.

I just recently read a graphic novel titled Laika and it totally made me cry. :( Poor Laika.

My list of print comics gets shorter and shorter, I just don't have the inclination to pick up new series' anymore. I'm thinking of dropping a couple of the ones I still get, too. Blade of the Immortal has been a disappointment for a long while now.

Although Mignola didn't draw the recent Hellboys, they were still good. I like his writing, so I'm liking the Hellboy and BPRDs.

Powers is finally picking up again, but oh god why is it so hard for them to stick to a goddamn schedule? If I could change two things about the series it would be 1) put them out on time dammit, and 2) your dialogue writing isn't THAT great so make your characters shut up sometimes would you? Otherwise I'm happy with it.

I recently read all of The Goon and Gotham Central but I prefer those in trade format so it's a long wait between them. :)

I really want to read Blacksad but it's impossible to find.
I also heard that new issues of Castle Waiting are coming out, but I can't seem to get ahold of them anywhere, and have resigned myself to waiting for trades.

That Gentleman Corpse one sounds interesting, maybe I'll look it up online and see if I might want it...

   IT'S OLD BATMAN

Yay - I'm not alone!

I love the GC books for so many reasons and, although I'm always recommending them to others, I still had the impression I was the only one actually reading them.

Of course, having read on various forums that Renee Montoya is now part of the super hero community and lover of the new Batwoman, it does seem as if DC have completely failed to realise that - thanks to GC - she was a far stronger character without all that nonsense!
