Okay, we all know that Steve Rogers who is Captain America who is now dead, but america cannot survive without a star spangled avenger. We need a new Captain America that will keep america alot safe. Can you tell me who would be a perfect Captain America for the marvel universe?
Legacyhero and i are doing a Kid Intense/Hero Force crosover which will be a blast. Also, we are teaming up for a Kid Intense movie. Tell me what you think of the crossover and the movie we are teaming up.

"America cannot survive without a star spangled avenger"??? 67 years ago, one year before Captain America debuted (right???) I think America was doing just fine. As a matter of fact, I can't think of any way at all that a comic book charact changed the course of history. And, like Beke said, "Captain America

I'm more upset that the only reason he died, is because the writer was upset that his son had just died from cancer. He wanted people to understand grief he had just felt, so that it might bring all us 'different' people closer as one.

The Punisher?! You're kidding, right?

You ask me, Black Panther would make a good replacement. He already rules his own country, so he has the experience to protect another.

Plus, he's a natural leader.

Wait, isn't he replacing Mr. Fantastic in the Fantastic Four?

It's unfortunate, but the character no longer has any international appeal. And if you aren't getting an international audience, it's not worth it anymore.

Captain America has about the same appeal that America has to other countries lately, for the same reasons. Because he is supposed to SYMBOLIZE America. I personally think his death was also a political statement of the state of this union.

I directly blame George Bush for the death of Captain America. :(

Apparently Marvel says Captain America will return if people vote Republican in 2008. He'll come back to face up against the conservatives element. This is unconfirmed, but I wouldn't put this past Marvel. Vote one way if you love your country, another way if you want Cap to return. Madness.

Are you serious?!

Man it would be hilarious if a lot of democratic comic junkies voted republican just so they could bring their favorite hero back.

I personally think the whole thing is stupid and a perfect example of bad writing for the sake of making whatever point. However, that said, Captain America was in his glory days between the 1940s and the 1980s, for the most part. The super soldier serum has kind of lost its spark and compared to most other superheroes, Cap tended to get left in the dust. Sure, to his credit, Cap had increased agility, speed and a combo of martial arts and just kick butt fighting skills...but his personality took a nosedive.

People read Spiderman to read about Peter Parker, who is the Amazing Spiderman. When I read Cap, it was always Cap in costume and his personal life had the appeal of week old dry toast. And no interesting supporting characters in decades!

There can be a new Captain America because Steve Rogers has arguably been dead for a long time.

I never quite pictured Marvel as a refuge of conservatism, based on the few comics of theirs I could stomach during the 1990s and 2000s. I can see them doing a contest or a promotion, sure. I could even see them going so far as holding Cap over a barrel if people did vote Republican ("Vote Democrat or Cap stays dead!" ;) )

Odd, odd, odd...

It's official: Marvel has gone batshit insane. Someone needs to re-hire Stan Lee, so he can sort this out.

Bring back Captain America...BUT GIVE HIM CLAWS!!!

Comic fans seem to DIG claws!

Here's a better slant on the CA thing...

DC killed Superman a few years back and sure enough, he made a comeback and even got a new uniform. Of course, four new Supermen held it down while he was gone...

Maybe this is for a new forum of discussion but, do you think CAPTAIN AMERICA dying has the same weight as SUPERMAN dying?

And this is asinine as well. Captain America is about America, the idea, not the Americans that Marvel just happens to like more.

I heard the OLD Hawkeye was Captain America for like, a minute. Punisher (as marine said) has a nice twist to the Captain America uniform.

Well apparently Marvel has decided that Cap sees neo-cons as not part of his "Ameican ideal" any more. Anyway i'm not for Marvel cashing in on politics to sell more books, but it seems to get them noticed.

I don't think so. Maybe in the 1960s or 1970s, it would have.

Ironically, if they had never killed Superman, maybe people might care about Cap dying.

But it's old news. It's been done before. And noone cares about Cap anymore.

Now if they killed Spiderman -- that would send shockwaves around the world!!!

Agreed about She-Hulk and the fourth wall breaking. :)

Deathstroke could. He's always been an underused and interesting character.

According to the timeline I heard, Captain America was created the same year as Pearl Harbor but he was created months before that attack occurred.
