are there ay comic coventions in the UK or as you yanks like to call it ingerland oops sorry about that .... you deserve it

We don't call it ingerland, we call it England :) Although it's true most people in the US don't understand the difference between England and the UK.

To answer your question, have you tried looking in this thread which is stickied at the top of this very forum?

preferably near birmingham and NOT in london or stratford seeing as those are the only places americans know in england

What Americans may know about England's geography doesn't have anything to do with where a comic convention might be. If Americans don't know anything about England, (according to your rather poor jokes) why are you asking them about conventions anyway? I don't think you have thought this through. :)

i did it again sorry its just...im only joking any way... bloody yanks

If you were actually sorry you'd have edited your post to make you sound normal before you posted it. You're not setting a good precident for yourself on your first post here, joking doesn't go over well in text for the most part (and not on a first post). Or maybe I'm just sensitive because as an American in England, I get these kinds of 'jokes' a lot and it gets old fast. :) TALLY HO WHAT WHAT

In addition to the UK cons already mentioned in the list I linked to above (two of them in fact in Brum), there's one much more friendly to webcomics called the UK Web- and Mini-Comix Thing (or something like that) which is in London in March, and I'm sure there is one in Bristol in midsummer sometime because I thought about going last year... can't remember what it's called though, sorry :[

Sorry but the big ones are gonna be in London, that's just the biggest location most people are gonna get. There are a couple in Birmingham though. I'm not sure I've heard of any (other than Bristol) that aren't in those 2 places... (I seriously doubt there will be a comic ANYthing in Stratford, ever) :)

Hi,

I'm sure you've already seen my previous thread, but the biggest UK Comic Convention is the Birmingham International Comics Show. http://www.thecomicsshow.co.uk [thecomicsshow.co.uk]

There are film cons and collectable cons in London, but - as yet - no dedicated comic con. Although if the Brum show continues to be such a huge success, we may consider doing a London Show if we can find a good venue.

Also to come this year is Thought Bubble up in Leeds. It'll be a bit further for you to go, but I've heard great things about it. I'll be going myself this year and selling my stuff there.

Youve just missed Bristol I'm affraid, as that was in May, but next years Bristol Expo looks very promising too.

hope that helps,

Chebbo
