I'm watching the Tyra show, with obese teenagers, and I find it so interesting how Tyra pretends to be interested in things, but you know that every time she makes a face she thinks, "Pose!"
Opinion question: is tyra a vacuous idiot, or a skinny Oprah?

I haven't seen much Tyra, but I'm going to go with "vacuous idiot". Then again, the only enjoyment I ever get out of those silly talk shows is those hilarious paternity tests. Seeing the girl burst into tears and run into the back room when the results are negative? A guilty pleasure of mine.

Oprah is an irritating loud-mouthed TV person. But she's got her opinions out there and she has some smart liberal views.

Tyra Banks is just a body. She's like gameshow host or an anchor person: an empty mannequin- a face on whatever show she fronts.

I saw her interview some "youtube stars" yesterday,she's pretty damn annoying.

I have a lot of bad things to say about Tyra. But to quote her, "Girl don't get me started!"

She's just gotten to the point now where she's almost become a parody of herself.

Probably one of my top 5 most annoying Celebs.

Vacuous idiot. I don't care for Oprah either, but Tyra borders on that level of Anne Coulter eye rolling.

When the show started, I thought she was genuinely trying to talk about topics and things she thought were serious...i.e., she wanted to be the next oprah. However, when her show got popular she forgot all about it and now she is just riding on her own wave of popularity. She doesnt care at all about the people on her show anymore and her "topics" are quickly degenerating into Jenny Jones-land.

Oh my god, I totally remember that. I thought it was the funniest thing I'd ever seen on TV. Especially when Miley was unwrapping the present: "Oh! I wonder what it is.... Oh... is this you...?"

And that's why I was obsessed with daytime court shows when I was working the night shift. I'm so glad I've finally gotten a real job.

As for Tyra, I recall one episode where she wore a fat suit. It reminded me of the Saturday Night Live when Eddie Murphy wore that makeup to make him look like a white guy.

Indeed. She talks about herself so often that I don't even see the point in lining up interviews - they should really just put a full-length mirror on a couch in front of her. "Oh, Tyra, glad to see you again! Why thank you Tyra, glad to be back."

I looked up a couple episodes after I saw this thread, and she really bugs me. She seemed really judgemental, and like she was trying to change people and convince people without any sort of background or real arguments.

Oprah is an opinionated, over-bearing idiot to begin with. Tyra isn't something you can even compare to that. I give her credit that she's smart enough to know how to look like she could pretend she's intelligent and that's about it.

But it's not like she's any different from any other one of these daytime "talkshow" hosts. Jerry Springer is as much of a vacuous moron as she is, if not moreso.

I disagree. Springer is a performer. He has a brain though. Oprah is also a clevr woman.

Tyra has a brain only so much as in she makes money from her looks and image, nothing else. Image is ALL she is aqnd will ever be. The other people didn't start off with something as pathetic as that and they will go further.

Loc\ve them or hate them, Springer and O[rah will live lasting cultural legacies. Tyra will not

Former New York “It” boy and Paper magazine blogger Fabian Basabe writes on his blog today that the supermodel turned TV personality, um, soiled herself at Fashion Week. Basabe was filming an interview in the W suite at the tents, and suddenly a whole cadre of people barged in and kicked him out. The reason? Tyra needed to change her clothes. Because of the incident. Apparently they had a spare change of clothes all lined up which makes him wonder if it’s happened before.
