I got Twilight Princess yesterday (GC, too poor for a Wii although the pinata game looks fun)... it's so great! :D I thought the wolf thing would be dumb but it's really good. And Medla (or whatever her name is) is so much better than the stupid fairies and she's actually HELPFUL sometimes. I hope she gets to do more because I think she's a cool character.

Also I'm excited that I can swing my sword while running (you used to have to stop to do that) and it also automatically locks onto the next nearest enemy (you used to have to push the button again to re-activate it or something)... Anyway. I'm having lots of fun with it, I know how my Christmas week is going to be wasted. :)

Ooooh... That's how I wanted to waste my Christmas vacation... But did I get it? No! Walmart didn't have it! So... Yeah... Thanks for rubbing that in my face. I got a whoopy cushion!

I have also been enjoying Twilight Princess for Gamecube. It's like Ocarina of Time only better in every possible way. It's larger, more detailed, and incredibly clever and fun. They keep surprising me with interesting new tools when I was pretty much expecting just the stock sword/bow/bomb/hookshot deal. And for the first time in a long time I've actually gotten a Game Over in a Zelda game.

My favorite thing about it is that characters now actually have character. They feel like people with personalities. They have facial expressions and do interesting things. And Hyrule is quite populated! I think Midna is my favorite character. She has an excellent design and she's sly, mischevious and cute all at the same time. Indeed, so much better than those stupid fairies.

I wish I was playing Zelda right now.

My only complaint is that the dungeons seem too short. :( The first one was quite big. The later ones get a little more complicated, with some clever puzzles, but there's no monsters in them that are too difficult, no puzzles to really stump you (although there are some clever ones), and they seem to have fewer and fewer rooms. Since most of a zelda games take place in the dungeons, I like to have great big complicated ones...

Also there is not enough damn horse grass around. There should be horse grass next to every warp spot, not all the way across the field from the warp spots (if that).

Later on in the adventure, lack of horseweed won't be an issue.

I can sympathize with you on the smaller dungeons. They do seem smaller. It's a good thing they give you so many other things to do in the overworld to help offset that.

The horsegrass thing gets solved between the 6th and 7th dungeons (of, I'm assuming, 8 dungeons)... a bit late I think. Especially because I've spent forever trying to collect all the stuff and do everything as I go. There's nothing left for me to roam around for now. :)

I kind of miss Majora's Mask, the way a bunch of people in the world had missions you needed to do for them. That sent you on a ton of errands, although some of them meant a lot of waiting around (or speeding up time) too. It was great to have that little checklist though, and it really helped fill out the world a lot. :) This Zelda's world seems quiet and unpopulated in comparison.

I also figured out recently that if you put away your sword just after killing a guy, it makes Link do this cool spinny showoff sheathing movement that makes me happy. :) I thought before he only did it randomly. Now I can make him do it all the time!

What pissed me off was that some of the puzzle were so obvious yet I was overthinking! I tried so much to make the switch go down and then I realize that the rock in the corner works just fine. I liked how Link could learn secret moves. The bosses, in my opinion were too easy.

Playing a rented gamecube version of Twilight. I love it. And hoping to buy it one of these days. And I'm hoping that if I get the wii and the game then consider this. Y'all won't see my ugly mug around here for a while. B)
