Lynn here.

I have insomnia a lot....So, I frequently find myself on TV Land. It's the only station that seems to be less infomercial, more programming. Usually, I am not up this early (10:54am.) Ethan and I are night people and generally don't get up 'till noon. But, on Sunday's Ethan has to be at work at 9am. Poor guy works like 70 hour weeks with horses------Man...that's manual labor, he's built like a shit-brick house too and soooo intimidating. But, he's reallly just a sensitive artist....(I love that song.) I am workin' on no sleep and not even near sleepy yet. Don't you hate that?

Anyway, back to TV Land...I don't know about ch'all---but, I grew up watchin' this stuff during the summers and they are still just as fantastic. Want to know how Ethan and I are in real life...Imagine Morticia Lisa Douglas-Ricardo married Gomez Ricardo Douglas. That's us.

Here are some of my favorite "Old Shows."

I Love Lucy, The Twilight Zone, The Addams Family, Hogan's Heroes, Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, Gilligan's Island, Green Acres, The Addams Family, The Munsters, Dark Shadows, F-Troop, Laverne and Shirley, Star Trek...(I also love the old game show, Beat the Clock.)

I could go on, but then what shows would you mention?

I was really happy when TV Land bought -- er, brought back Star Trek TOS (The Original Series). I was in the hospital for a 4-day stint right before Thanksgiving last year (very bad case of food poisoning, beware convenience store bratwursts, people!) and they were doing a weekend marathon...best thing in the world for me at the time. :)

They made me mad, though, when they kept moving the Star Trek time slot (no offense to Sanford and Son). Now it's at, what, 12:30 -1:30am every weeknight or something? Grrr!

Yeah, I have NO idea when ST TOS comes on...I know the other mornin' it was about 6:30 and I caught one of my favorite episodes. (The one with Slave Girl Drusilla, can never remember the name of the episode...) But, then I've found it on at other times too...No tellin'.

(As for the Bratwurst--um that's a realll Homer thing to do and I too have made myself sick off of Convenient Store Pork Products. (Honestly, I have!) Hope you were well by Thanksgivin'---be a shame to miss all that Pun'kin Pie.)

I got released the Tuesday afternoon before Thanksgiving (which was that Thursday). It was just the guilt factor that made it bad, since my kids were starting to ask if I was going to be home for Thanksgiving -- and at the time they asked, I didn't know! It all turned out great on Turkey Day, though, so we got a happy ending after all.

YAY for Happy Endings. This was the first year I cooked a Turkey by myself.

I was so proud, I had to take a picture.

I love old shows, but TV Land never runs most of the stuff I like for any amount of time!

Get Smart
I Love Lucy
The Dick van Dyke Show
Happy Days
Laverne and Shirley
Barney Miller
Batman
The Muppet Show
Taxi

(not so old stuff -- more Nick@Nite type)
Cheers
Wings
Night Court
MacGyver
Murphy Brown

I'm a huge Dick van Dyke (Never a Dull Moment is one of my faves) and Get Smart, did you hear they are makin' a movie with:

Steve Carell as Maxwell Smart; Anne Hathaway as Agent 99; Alan Arkin as the Chief of CONTROL; Terence Stamp as Siegfried (Could that be better?) and The Rock as Agent 23. (Tee Hee)

Also, who doesn't like The Muppets...Piiiiggs innnn Sppppaaace....I didn't include the later stuff--- like Good Times, Cheers, A-Team and the like, but I like 'em too, 'specially Cheers.

I've started watching reruns of Poirot in the afternoon here. It's sort of cheesy 80's bad acting for the most part, but the mysteries are usually interesting enough, and I really like the character of Hercule Poirot that the actor plays. :) He's sort of fastidious and fussy and egocentric, but so polite and proper!
