A joint project between collectors, Kaji Motomiya and The_Emperor, this small starting comic series was inspired by our habits and the habits of other members of a forum called Henshin Justice Unlimited to take pictures of our recently-acquired collectibles and have them do stuff, as if they were alive or the characters they were based off of. The comic is done through Photagraphy, taking pictures of the posed toys, and then adding speech bubbles and stuff via Photoshop (I use a CS5, Empy uses 7). It was also inspired by the Pixar movie, Toy Story...'cept the toys used are from well known media such as "Kamen Rider", "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya", and Predator.

Welcome to my room. I'm not available right now. Please leave a message or any concerns with the spirits lingering here. No, furrealz, I think my room is haunted. Every time I come back, there are things opened, my junk and manga all over the floor, and one time, I even found different game saves in my PS2 memory cards! Can spirits actually play games?! And I get strange IMs sometimes from people I don't know, asking me if "Kuuga's getting into trouble again," or if "Diend is on," or "Black Rock Shooter is hot." I'm scared...I don't know who to turn to! I'm sending an SOS! A professional! An exorcist! Someone, help!

-

The_Emperor and I are toy enthusiasts and collectors, though he's more of one than I am because these things cost money! Some to most of the stuff we deal with are Japan imports, though he spreads to far more things such as comic-related items and TV show figures, such as Family Guy and Doctor Who. We originated from the forum I mentioned earlier, Henshin Justice Unlimited, where we and other members would post pictures and make small funny comics or cool scenes from them. It was his comic that inspired the idea, and I'm surprised he even went along with it! It's a new style of comic I've always wanted to try working on since my first experience with comics were three-panel sprites, a comic-style similar to popular newspaper hits like Garfield.

The toys we've used so far are...

S.H. Figuarts Masked Rider Kuuga (Kamen Rider Kuuga)
figma Black Rock Shooter (Black Rock Shooter)
figma Asahina Mikuru (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya)
figma Hirasawa Yui (K-On!)
figma Akiyama Mio (K-On!)
Predator (...Predator)
And there are more to come!

Also, check out my partner's own comic series of the same style, The Misadventures of Mikuru Asahina , starring his very own figma Asahina Mikuru figure!

Please check us out, comment, rate, critique, give advice, whatever! We're here for laughs, right? And all we wanna do is make you guys laugh...

In our own way!!

Edit: Stupid me forgot to put the link! lol

Let's see...here are some updates since the comic's launch in 11/12/10. I'll try to keep these updates up around the first week of the month.

11/18/10 - The_Emperor 1 - The_Emperor 1 - When the Master's Away...
11/21/10 - Kaji Motomiya and The_Emperor 1 - First SOS
11/25/10 - PSA 1 - Happy Thanksgiving! =D
11/30/10 - Cover page
12/1/10 - Kaji Motomiya 2 - Honorable...?

The toys we've used so far are...
(in order of appearance)

S.H. Figuarts Masked Rider Kuuga (Kamen Rider Kuuga)
figma Black Rock Shooter (Black Rock Shooter)
Pooky the Teddy Bear (...mine)
figma Asahina Mikuru (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya)
figma Hirasawa Yui (K-On!)
figma Akiyama Mio (K-On!)
Predator (...Predator)
S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider W CycloneJoker (called PhiSho in the comic)
S.H. Figuarts Masked Rider Diend (The_Emperor's)
Clone Troopers (Star Wars)
S.H. Figuarts Masked Rider Decade
figma Dead Master
S.H. Figuarts Diend (mine)

That's pretty much up. If I keep this up, we'll be doing at least 4 to 5 comics a month, depending on how fast me and The_Emp does this...though he has his own comic to run, so I better cut him some slack. lol

Be sure to check these out if you haven't yet, and keep an eye for future comics and updates on this thread! Link is at the bottom of the first post.

Comic will be taking a break this week. There are problems with the pictures I took for the comic that was intended for Tuesday, 12/7/10, and I'm debating on retaking those pictures...

Unfortunately, I can't come up with a comic that says, "Merry Christmas!" from my figures. So in the mean time, let me wish you all a very Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Merry X-mas to those without a religious background, and so on, so forth. May the Holidays, the last week of 2010, and the upcoming year of 2011 be very good and kind to you all.

Thank you for reading whatever's been posted for Toyroom SOS. Thank you, The_Emperor for your support, and Strain42 for your everlasting inspiration.

Happy Christmas and Merry Holidays to all.

Edit: I lied. lol

Toyroom SOS will be coming back this Friday, 1/14/11. All the problems from before have been taken care of, and what better way to bring back the comic than to introduce the newest of the cast!

Whatever's inside the package, sitting on my bed right now, I hope that it's what I think it is. I paid for that a LONG time ago, and I FINALLY got it (I hope). If it's what I think it is, then she'll be a vital and fundamental part of the cast.

Coming cast members this January:
+ figma Aigis (Persona 3)
+ D-Arts WarGreymon (Digimon Adventures)
+ Rockman.EXE Advanced PET, Blues Edition (not for comic, but just something I'm excited about)
Please gobble me kindly!

Now taking casting suggestions!
For the entire year I've been collecting these Figuarts, figmas, and other Japanese-related figures and collectibles, I realize HOW EXPENSIVE these things are. So, in the future of 2011 for the comic, I am now taking "Casting" suggestions of the non-Japanese genre. I'll try to hold these once every month.

Casting Requiremnents
1) Figures must be FULLY posable and articulated, able to make a unique set of expressions with the free movement of their joints. Replaceable hands are optional.
2) Other castings may include stuffed animals and plushies, such as the bear in the first comic.
2a) Ironically, stuff like Bakugan (no, for real, they can make fun and easy filler cast members) are also acceptable.
3) Casting must not have a "horrifying" look to them (I'm a ***sy, what can you expect?). That includes figures or so that fall under the category of horror games and movies, Zombie-related games or movies, and stuff like Bioshock (you wouldn't believe how much that woman with the shotgun and weird lip REALLY creeps me out...)
4) Suggestions can be VERY general, but fall under a "series". Examples you can give are stuff like..."Transformers," "Halo,"...uhh..."Star Wars", Star Wars isn't bad. But all in all, ALL suggestions MUST BE non-Japanese related...accept Bakugan, Bakugan is totally acceptable.

What I listed are just started, as they're all I really see when I pass by my local Target, Walmart, and Toys R Us when I'm looking for new cast members. Give me stuff YOU wanna see...that falls under these requirements!

DAMMIT! I wanted to get my comic up on February first, but because of a monster headache, I took a nap in the after noon and ended up waking up at 10pm. I should commit a samurai's ritual suicide called seppuku for breaking my promise! Maybe i can get it up on Wednesday instead and try to hurry for Friday as well. I need at least 4 comics done before February 14, two Mondays from now!

I SHOULD be done decorating the comic page. I just need the background image to work. But other than that, the comic has a new look! Now I just need to work on the new cover...

Remember to read the news (under comic's story) on the right-most section of the page, above where you post comments.

I'm also recruiting writers for the future of the comic after April. My sister said that I should try asking for other writers' help so that my jokes won't run old (even though the comic's only been around for 3 months, soon to be 4 months, not counting December). Writers must also be well versed in toy/figure collecting or can at least make good recommendations to add to the cast.

Remember, this is my wallet that's taking a serious beating...

A reminder that there will be one comic release today. I am also considering of removing the character profile pages from the comic and placing them on the right side, above the Comment Box. If I DO put up a second update this week, then it'll probably be another character profile. I'm trying to get all of them done before the 20th comic and Toyroom SOS' inevitable Spring Break.

Until then, keep reading!

Unfortunately, due to the hectic weekend and screwing up my sleeping schedule, there will be no comic this Tuesday. However, this will not deter the 20th comic's and the end of Season 1's schedule. Everything will still run smoothly until April 1st. And I don't do April Fools jokes.

But production MAY be a bit slow, since I am currently working on returning back to college this fall, and my deadline is April. So bear with me, please...

Edit: I spelled the verb, "bear", wrong and mixed it with "bare"...

After three or so, maybe 4 months of hiatus, the stupid figures from Japan are back! And this time, they have a bigger playing field!
Stick around August 12 for the debut of Season 2: Toyhouse SOS (there will not be a name change in the comic)!

A little more than two months since I've last updated this thread, and I come bearing bad news.
....No, this comic isn't stopping. Sorry to disappoint.
If there are ANY religious readers of my works, then you may have noticed that my comics haven't been updating. I will explain why.
Over the past month, since I started college, I've had less to devote myself to the comics. While I take the pictures weeks in advance, I've been too busy to even make the comics and put them up. Sadly, I'm beginning to regret it as the Season 2 finale is coming in a month. Now for the big news. Toyroom SOS and the side-comic MANZAI with Matoku and Yomita are on a few week break due to technical issues.
To clarify, my motherboard died (again). I'm expecting to get my laptop back at the end of October, so for now, I'm using this time to prepare AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE while juggling with the stuff I need to practice for my midterms (music vocal major, some midterms require singing, I'm panicking).
The schedule will TRY to go as follows:
Friday, November 4th, comic 38 of Toyroom SOS will go up, and every day after that will follow constant releases until 38 to 46 (9 comics total) are caught up, and the comic is back on schedule. Comic 44 will instead be posted on Saturday, November 12, as Friday, November 11 is the comic's 1st Anniversary comic and will NOT have its date changed whatsoever. By then, the comic should be caught up. By Tuesday, November 15, the comic SHOULD be caught up with at 47. It's a lot of comics for me to do ahead of time, so please bear with me.
MANZAI will have constant Sunday releases until everything is caught up with. Manzai 3 will be on November 6, 4 on November 13, 5 on November 20, and caught up with 6 at November 27, a bit after Toyroom SOS Season 2 ends.
I hope this clarifies everything for any/everyone. Thank you for your patience, and I am deeply sorry for the inconvenience. I do this because I do my comics for not only me, but the readers (if any).

So how do you find Season 2 so far? Tell me. =3
