Things you learned from comics

I've learned a lot of things from comics over the years, more than I can remember and write here.
Obviously, the most informative comic I've ever read was 'Understanding Comics' by Scott McCloud, which is a comic book on creating comic books which if I ruled the world would be compusary reading in schools. It's an amazing book.

More random things I've learned from comics include:
Scott Pilgrim- taught me how to make a vegan shepherd's pie! And that not being a teenager any more doesn't mean life will become boring.
Cardcaptor Sakura- taught me the chinese elements
V for Vendetta- taught me that anarchy is sometimes nessesary, not evil.
'Azumanga Daioh' and 'Yotsuba&!'- taught me a lot about life in Japan that turned out to be very useful when I went to live there!
Shutterbox- taught me that good manga can come from America, too!
Ah My Goddess!- taught me a little Norse mythology.
Hellboy and Xxxholic- Taught me that less can mean more on a comic page, and that pure black can be used to amazing effect.

...I'd go onto what I learned from online comics, but that list is a little too long now as it is! So how about I ask you guys? Have you learned anything useful from comics?

Girls with normal bodies are much hotter than girls with grotesquely exaggerated bodies, and normal life posture is much sexier than exaggerated pin-up posturing.

That making them can be pretty damned unrewarding.

To keep on with fantasysing and living in magical worlds. Somehow Bone and the Douglas TenNapel novels keep reminding me of that after reading it.

Not as a comic but in the Anime: Full Metal Alchemist. It has so many nice morals that I learned about life itself like for example: "Life is all about sacrifices but in the end, you would receive a result but sometimes it won't be the thing that you'd expect!"

In comics, I learned a lot. It is true by time you'd improve on whatever you love to do! I can sense it now, I can look back at my first few pages and say: Damn it sucks but now, it's better but I want more. As FMA said, the reason you can't perfect in art is because life isn't perfect.

Enjoy... Las Vegas-y

I've learned that a comic strip you think is funny and innocent will tick off people, and they will email. They will email you A LOT.

I did one about the Kennedy Assasination back in November on my cartoon's original site (I'm still moving the archive over to here) and had one panel with James Kaat and Mouse at the grassy knoll. James asks if Mouse can see anything and she says she can't see anything because all the people are blocking her line of site. It was a throw away gag and I didn't think anyone would care. I got close to a thousand emails from angry conspiracy nuts and ten from people that liked the comic the next morning (the strane thing is my hit counter only went up to 368 when I checked it, did these conspiracy nuts email it to each other or was it multiple from the same people?).

And yes, I read every one of those hate emails.
