thewebcomiclist.com doesn't like drunk duck comic updates

I'm not sure where to put this so general it is.

A casual webcomic reader told me that they prefer http://www.thewebcomiclist.com for his/her webcomic faving and reading needs over all other webcomic list sites. They told me that he/she had problems checking for updates for my comics and I should fix it.

I went there and I changed the links but nothing changed. The auto-update doesn't work.
Then I noticed in my favorites that all of the drunkduck comics' update features did not work either.

Sooo... any of you guys have a drunkduck link comic there that works? Is it some kind of drunkduck code problem..? Or something else...? :dizzy:

It had trouble updating for me so I contacted them, finally got through and they set it to updating again, now it's f**ked once more. NOT updating at all. (my site ISN'T listed as being on Drunk Duck there.

I tried to change it to point to my Drunk Duck site but it doesn't work.

After trying to contact someone over there OVER AND OVER again in many different ways through their site I finally got through. She told me that the site has some trouble with updating with Drunk Duck pages now... And the guy who runs the site is out of town and anyway he's putting all his energy into some new web company he's started up.

So, despite my contacting and getting through, my site no longer updates through their system, it still points to my other site and NOT Drunk Duck where I'd prefer it to and the guy behind it doesn't really want to have that much to do with it anymore anyway.

I'd say it's probably time to drop the service. ;)
If things don't improve I'm going take it off of all my comic sites. No need for us to support a service that doesn't work, is there?

-edit
Here's most of the e-mail I got:
I am sorry about the problems you are having. I updated your comic a
couple of weeks ago but unfortunately a lot Drunk Duck comics produce what
we call a "full page match"
and I have to ask Ash to finalise the update.

I have sent Ash another reminder about Pinky TA but please be patient, in
the last year he has set up his own Web company www.evoluted.net [evoluted.net] and is not
able to devote the amount of time he would wish to the comic site at the
present time.
Meanwhile, I'm still being "patient"... Yeah.

Yeah, the exact same thing happened to me. I've been trying to fix it for a few weeks now. It's annoying, since the link points to the wrong site and they won't change it it makes the listing there useless for me.

Those guys are worthless. Thankfully, I use other listings to promote my comic. If I had to depend on them, i'd never get any traffic.

I never really liked that site. The people on it even are just rude. (obviously not all) My comic has gotten the most HATEFUL reviews on that site more than anywhere else. I've had my friends tell me they had to go in there and stick up for me because it was just sad.

My site's not hooked up to DD over there but I have issues with the main site a lot. But honestly I just don't check anymore - like I said - I hate going to someplace where everything said about my comic is hateful. *smirk* Doesnt make my day very nice.

Don't sweat it Juno. I like your comic, and that's all that really matters when you get down to it. ^_^

I put my site there....that's about all I did with it. I didn't even know they had an update thing.

They changed everything else but the links, which makes me sad. One of my comic's links doesn't even go to the site anymore. I'll just have to leave it alone.

I went and took a look around the site, and it seemed kind of.. unprofessional? I listed myself there just to have my name on the site, but I'm pretty unimpressed with it as a whole. There's a lot of spelling errors and it's really kind of hard to find your way around. I wouldn't sweat not being able to get it to work too much.

juno, I read the comments people gave you, and seriously it sounded like plain and utter jealousy. I mean, your comic has beautiful art, and from what I've read of it, a very strong plotline. I think those people are just sour-graping it because your comic is so popular.
>:(
someone already added my comic to that site... I was confused, but now I'm kinda charmed. although I'm like #4000... hahaha... I dunno how to get more popular, but I don't care all that much either XD

aww - seriously, thank you both. When I saw those back when they were posted I was just taken back. One of those, 'geez, not only what did I do wrong but what did I do to you?!'

But see, that's my problem with a lot of commentacular sites. People snipe you for pure pleasure. And it used to actually kinda be that way on the Duck my first go around here too. People were just vicious to each other. Maybe that was a webcomics 'generation' of sorts that's fading fast. You don't see it too much anymore thankfully.

I see webcomics as a medium to more support growing artists because we all started out somewhere and doing these comics force us to practice and grow. Sites like this I don't think can respect that. Granted, maybe, popularity can give us something to strive for but I think that taints why we do this in the first place. I don't know how sites get more popular on thewebcomiclist either. I have no idea where I am on there - like I said, I stay away no matter what. And honestly, I've tried to learn not to care - at ALL. It's not about that anymore. ^_^

WOW - I'm offtopic. I should know better. Sorry y'all! So that webcomiclist.com site not showing when I update - that's where we were. ^_^"
