I'm laying out my comic pages, but I can't decide whether to go for good old black line with colour added, or give them some kind of fully painted finish.
Sometimes I think black line is more immediate and stops art getting in the way of plot. Other times I think pure colour can pack an emotional punch.
Any thoughts?

are you talking about having like colored/no outlines (like samurai jack) as opposed to solid blacks? If so, I think it really depends on the mood of the story your doing, like I would use black lines for a serious CSI type comic or something.
One thing to keep in mind if your doing colored/no outlines is to have enough of a contrast between your character and background so that they don't 'blend' into the scene.
