When I got my Nintendo DSi, one of the first DSiWare games I picked up was "Birds and Beans" (but I prefer to call it Pyoro because the name is just so cute!). I went and unlocked the "Birds and Beans 2" game (I call it Spittin' Pyoro because it's cute, but sounds disgusting). I've had a very hard time putting the game down. Maybe it's the gameplay. Maybe it's the fact that the higher your score gets the more the background changes.... or maybe it's just that desire to beat your previous score.

Spittin' Pyoro Current High Score: 47950

Has anyone played Peggle on the 360? Good lord, I can play that for hours sometimes, and it's so ridiculously simple. XD

There's something about simple games taht make you wanna just never stop playing it. I think it's the background and the high score thing that get you reeled in. The creators are some lucky bastards.

Good Lord, Peggle is fun. Hard to stop playing, and multi-player is addicting too.

Reflections [laser.narr.as] is a fun little game too. Very simple, yet still challenging. No score or music or anything...just you and the game.

I don't get to play video games often, so I don't have much to offer. However, if this can include online games as well, the two games I absolutely love (or actually, love to hate) are Bubble Spinner and Avalanche . They're so frustratingly addictive, and that's the worst (or the best...). Karoshi Suicide Salesman is pretty fun, too.

(Edit: if you go to those sites through the links, be sure to take out the "/" at the end of the URL. The line of code doesn't work unless it's included, but the website itself doesn't show up if it is. *shrug*)

I love my Picross on DS, after I do all the games I'll wipe the card out and do them all over again. :D

Chuzzle. Because not only are they fuzzy balls with eyes, but you make them pop. Wonderfully morbid.

Karoshi Suicide Salaryman is a GREAT game!
I'm not sure if that's the same game as Karoshi 1 and 2, which were just small-time downloadable flash games, but still. Great stuff.

I'm trying to think of more simplistic games...
There was this one...
QWERTY WARRIORS 2!

Oh my. I played that for a good hour. XD

I beg to differ, sometimes the most complicated games are the most addictive.

Dwarf Fortress is one.

And sometimes ones that are cruel beyond human definition of absolute torture is the most addicting.

New Birds & Beans high score: 51950

And the way the background looks at that level... I'd probably appreciate it more if I was on Speed or was otherwise stoned... >_<

All those "Pop Cap Games" are great (Peggle, Chuzzle, Bejewled, etc...)

Also has anyone tried Shattered Galaxy? It's a little more complex, but it has a simple design and graphics to match. That game was really addictive.

I have a difficult time dragging myself separating myself from most old fashioned Pac-Man style games, such as Ms Pac-Man and LadyBug. Just something about collecting this n' that while maze running and being pursued that puts me in the zone.

Tetris, hands down. And then there's the game I bought a couple of days ago because it was on sale on Steam for five bucks, Plants vs. Zombies. It's a tower defense game that's actually FUN. One of the zombies is a gigantic guy who smashes all your crap with a random object he's holding (stop sign, telephone pole, a standard zombie) and throws midget zombies at you.
