Peter Molyneux, the asshat behind the shitty fable and the awesome Black and White, put out another big hit a year or two ago (I don't know when!). The Movies is like a bastardized cross between those fun Tycoon games and a simple movie maker.

The basic gameplay isn't real hard. You hire people to various positions, and basically order what you want built and where. Not hard or anything really.

Now you DO have to keep your actors happy. If they get pissed off, they'll do dickholish stuff like quit while you're making a movie, and that's NO GOOD!

Of course, you don't really give a shit about that, do you? What you care about is the actual movie making. And that's really simple. You select preset shots, put the actors in place, and that's it for filming. I know that sounds restrictive, but you get so many friggin options that you probably won't care.

You'll eventaully have some sort of disaster filmed, and then it'll be time for post production. At this point you can add subtitles, or your own voice acting (which the game will even lip synch for you) and you'll be ready to unleash your disaster on the world!

Of course, it wouldn't be right for me to talk about the game without posting my masterpiece...

The Movies is awesome. I don't have the game, but I've tried it at a friend's house. It was grand.

There wasn't any of the sex that was promised... I was disappointed. Apart from that it looked really nicely done. You just built up a lot of expectation over that sex scene and never delivered...

I have that game and the expansion pack too. :)
It does get a bit boring after a while, though.
