Finally! Mack Bolan, the Executioner, will be published in a 5-issue miniseries by IDW Publishing. to those of you who don't know the character, Mack Bolan was a Vietnam vet who returned home to bury his family, all killed indirectly by the Mafia. After that, Bolan went on a personal war against the mob here in the states and abroad, nearly obliterating them in 38 books. After that, Mack's death was faked and he worked for the government as a special forces leader until the love of his life was killed by the KGB. Bolan went rogue again, and now he works arms-length with the government, helping them in their fights against terrorism and taking personal missions against the scum of the earth.
The Executioner is the longest continuously running American pulp fiction series, beginning in 1969 and still going strong today. In fact, the Executioner was the direct inspiration for the Punisher.
I'm a huge fan of the books and I eagerly look forward to this comic series. I'll definitely be grabbing the trade at the very least.

I read dozens of the early books until I just burned out on them. Recently I've been thinking about trying to unearth one or two of the early books and see if they still work for me nearly thirty years later.
