Okay, so I called and asked for Kelley Nimmo. She gets there at 8 am CST

She set me up for the reduced rate. So if any of you guys bought a room for $79 and would rather save $20 a night, you can call her and she'll fix things up for you! ^_^

Read "The Devon Legacy".

It's kind of you guys to let me crash with you; I only will if you let me pay you back! That, and something might come up between then and now, so I can't say I will *for sure* be there, but I am making plans. If anything changes, I can still get a room of my own because money is not really an issue for me (I'm a good girl; I save more than I spend :D).

As for the table space, thanks for offering me some room JNP. I don't know if I'll use it though (I don't really know what to put on it o_o).

And the seating...I don't care who I sit next to. I can be placed where anywhere. XD

Boy, I really do want to go though, this event sounds fun!

I was wondering the same thing when I did my first artist table appearance last year, Nicotine. There'll be the occasional guest who's browsing the artist alley and offering to pay people to draw something in their sketchbook.

My advice to first-timers is: make yourself a sign to tape in front of your table, offer to draw stuff for a reasonable fee, print out some samples of your work to put on display, and above all else, have fun! :)

One more thing, Nic... can I list you in the "expressed interest" section of our "who's coming" page?

Thanks for the advice! I was think about doing a sample book of my comic, since it's not that long yet.

And you can certainly list me! My real name is Nicolette Oladipo. :D

I may go ahead and do a DrunkDuck block when laying this thing out. One thing I am considering is putting the family-friendly comics in one area (probably the area closest to the panel room) and the more mature comics on the other side.

Other stuff we might plan: a Friday night social at the hotel bar or maybe a Deep Ellum pub crawl. If we have some sort of excursion into downtown Dallas, getting there will be as simple as taking the hotel shuttle a few blocks east to the light rail station. :)

DWEX is coming up quickly! How many of you Texas DDers are coming out to see us? Looks like there will be a good number of DDers on-hand exhibiting. Come high five us!

Wish I could go, it sounds fun. I live in RI though. Maybe I can plan for next year if it goes over well. :)

It's a Grizzly Bear battling Zombies. Do you need to know more?

My table is # awesome

They mislabeled it as 11 though :(
I thought they would keep the DD people together?
Amanda is at table 12 and Vickie from Used Books is at 21. I wonder who I'll be next to me on #10

It took really precise engineering to get everyone where they needed to be. And I did keep all the Drunkards in the same area... some of y'all are gonna be across the aisle, though... but everyone should still be able to talk to each other. JNP, you'll be next to Mark Largent of "The Wannabe Pirates" at #10.

I didn't even know Phil (popvox) was on here... but he's helming the panel discussions, so I gave him the table closest to the panel-torium.

Yeah, this is my secret other webcomic project. I was actually just starting it up around the time when we first started talking about me helping with DWEX. I didn't really tell anyone about it at first, but I couldn't help it. I love webcomics!

So the table by the Webcomics Advocates Paneltorium is ideal for me. Thanks Thomas!

The room looks great... some of the tables were longer than I expected, so some of you will have a lot more space to spread out. Thanks to JustNoPoint, UsedBooks and the other guys who stopped by and helped with setup! See y'all tomorrow!

So anyone else besides Vickie and PyThomas from DD going to be at this one this year?

Already got my table paid for. Next year you need to do this when it's cooler though. I fear the outdoors in late August! We comic makers are very sensitive to heat and light you know!

If you're unable to attend DWEX this year, you can still participate by sending us an original piece of artwork for us to auction off in our Charity Art Auction. The proceeds will benefit two charities in the Dallas area that do a lot for children with debilitating illnesses and disorders. Check out our post on dwex.info for more information. [dwex.info]

While I won't be there in person, a copy of my art will be in the charity auction. This could be your very own:

I'll be there...if anyone feels like giving me the money for a plane ticket!
Sadly, most of my readers are in America, as are the bulk of webcomic conventions.
I am painfully out of the loop here!

I might... If you promised to wear a fursuit the entire time ^_^

Actually, for a stunt like that you could probably raise enough without too much trouble. If you could publicise it well enough. ;)

Man, I'm thinking about just moving over there and con-hopping my way around the whole country- immersing myself in the dirty world of comicing for good.

Hey I made it -- twice! Although a domestic ticket is a bit cheaper than an international one.

I might have to panhandle if I want to afford to go to DWEX or any other convention again. Heh. Having seen Texas in August, I also now have a greater appreciation for my Virginia home. Let's have the Dallas Expo here next year! ;)
