Just curious, what is the best animated movie you have ever watched? After watching Princess Mononoke, I gotta say that's my choice.

Oh dear...
Maybe...
Princess Mononoke or Howls Moving Castle.
There's a lot of Disney movies I like, too, but these ones are just great.

Oooo, what a truly great question. On what does one base a response?
I guess I'm gonna' have to go with...ummmm...The Little Mermaid. I really liked the score on that one and have it playin' occassionally still in the background while I'm workin' on other stuff.
I also REALLY like Wizards and The Last Unicorn.

Nausicaa is my favorite ever.
I also liked Road to El Dorado and A Goofy Movie. My brother and I simply must watch the latter every year at the beginning of summer.

Damn - where to begin?!
At least one of the classic Disney movies has to be up there. Maybe Bambi or Fantasia. Both ground-breaking.
Of the recent Disney movies, probably Mulan. Love the Chinese stylings that run through the artwork.
I don't think anyone's mentioned any CGI animation yet but Shrek and Toy Story have to be in with a shout. Heralded a return to family (as opposed to children's) movies. Something for all ages, including adults.
Away from the States, Studio Ghibli must have a few contenders. I'd probably choose Spirited Away. Borders on the surreal in places.
Then there's Ghost in the Shell. And Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. Both fine attempts to tell stories with serious underlying themes and, in the case of FF, almost lifelike animation.
Aaaagh! There are just too many!

Either Spirited Away or End of Evangelion. Akira is pretty close, but doesn't quite hit the mark.

Transformers The Movie (1986), followed by Disney's Atlantis, then Rock N' Rule, then Disney's The Black Cauldron(a movie which no one believed me when I said existed until they finally re-released it on video a few years ago).
I tend to dislike Anime movies because, like with manga, the medium is all about the artwork and not the story itself. I'm a story-loving fool.

These are CG cutscenes from the remake of Final Fantasy Tactics.
If this is a movie I'd love it to death. Typical cartoony or realistic CG styles are always cold/sterile. This warm CG style is so friggin' beautiful...

Akira...story, anime, and action!!!
this is by far my favorite anime.
As for american animation I loved The Iron Giant and The Last Unicorn.
For CG animation...The Incredibles! and also a very over-looked movie Waking Life.

The Prince of Egypt.
Simply because that "Let My People Go" song engraved itself into my brain.
Oh, and The Nightmare Before Christmas is also a favorite of mine.

Mrs. Frisby & The Rats of NIMH and The Secret of NIMH are 2 completely different entities, even discounting the difference in media. Usually when a book is rewritten to hell for movie purposes, the movie becomes very bad. In the case of NIMH, I couldn't say that. Both have their strong points. The book makes more sense. But the movie is just damn exciting and more fun.

The Secert of NIHM was a master piece it self! I wouldn't let little kids watch it, but the story plot is amazing! And the art work, even years after is truly something even I couldn't have dreamed of.
I wounder why it isn't apperciated like other cartoons?

I liked Fritz The Cat a lot, it was particularly good and I'd say is my favorite long form animated film, but for short form, its Duck Amuck all the way.
Wizards, Coonskin, Fire & Ice, Secret of Nimh, Duck Dodgers in the 24th 1/2 Century is another Loony Toon short that I love, Fantasia, Heavy Metal, Tom & Jerry stuff by Chuck Jones can't think of any specific names, Akira, The Brave Little Toaster, first four or five Scooby Doo were the right way to do direct to dvd/video animation this latest crap they're doing with him lost all that I'd say up to the one with the witches it had it but after that its over.
I can think of more later I'm sure.
