You ever notice how, now matter how awesome a game is, there's something really annoying about it? Well, I did. Here's just a few.

LoZ Ocarina of Time: Navi

Resident Evil 4: You're in Spain for some reason... and... bugs... uhh.. I really had no idea what was going on. Good game overall though.

Final Fantasy VII: Really long annoying cutscenes for your attacks. This works for almost any FF game though.

Prince of Persia: Seriously, what was that guy's name?

Ok, those were pretty obvious. So what bugs you guys about your favorite games?

Geneforge 2: Crummy inventory system. A nasty bug with some rare Claws-of-a-Demon prevented me from getting all 4 legendary items.

Geneforge 3 and 4: Game is compartmentalized into 'Segments' or 'Chapters'. (I like a huge, big sprawling world which you can explore to your heart's content.)

Chrono Trigger: Why did Zeal have to be doomed?!

SMRPG: Well... actually, I can't find anything wrong with this game. Maybe that's why I like it so much.

I have a big problem with almost every rpg out there. When you put on armor it dosen't affect your physical appearance in any way. If I'm putting on a belt I want see the belt on the character. If I put on shiny new armor I want see it on the character. this is one of the reasons I actually liked Fable. Also WHY THE HELL CAN WE ONLY WHERE 2-4 RINGS!!!! We have 10 fingers come on!!!

This has bothered me for years, especially since some games do it, but most don't, especially high profile ones. You'd think with the current gen of systems they'd have moved beyond this problem.

One that ruined a game I was otherwise having a blast playing was in Kingdom Hearts, the camera follows too close. So close in fact, that it keeps wanting to spin around you, which started giving me headaches. I had to quit playing because of that.

I'm also doing that other comic "Space Waffles ".
We now have a podcast called The Random Pirate Comics Show!

The camera angles in the original Resident Evil. I think Adam Sesslar from X-Play summed it up best when he tried to get to the bathroom (but couldn't because the camera angle kept changing when he got close to the door)...

One thing that gets me is RPG's that only let you fight so many enemies. The only game that did this to me was Knights of the old republic 1&2. Other than that they where incredibly fun and every time I played it over I found a new item that I have never gotten before.

Resident Evil 4 is one of my favorite games in recent history... but it had such corny dialogue! I don't mind though. It made the game funny.

Zelda: Twilight Princess - What are the point of Rupees anymore? I always had way more than I needed and ended up leaving most of them in the treasure chests where I found them.

They had some fancy armor for that. You know, the one that ate your money when you got hit.

Resident Evil 4 was as good as games should be. It had cheesey dialouge, a crazy plot that made perfect sense for the game if you listened, and it looked absolutely gorgeous. I didn't even mention how perfect the gameplay was, did I? Your knife is no longer useless. The context sensitive stuff was awesome. Any encounter with anything big was so much fun. Dudes had chainsaws that could cut off your head.

The plot was simple to figure out for those of you in the dark: Sadler, the bad guy, had figured out that the las plagas (the bug things) were a better way to control people than the T-virus from older resident evil games. He used the money and political power of the midget guy to take over the spanish area that they were in. Then he for some reason kidnaps the presidents daughter. At that point, the only man in resident evil world with the stones to save her stepped up the challenge. Thats where the game starts. If you read the notes and crap, it elaborates certain things. Really though, "does it matter?" Its like watching Die Hard without knowing he was in the building for his ex-wife. It doesn't matter. Bad guys are there, he's the only one with the stones to save the day.

Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon. I think it's a great game. However, my neighbor is kinda sad that there's 11 heroines you can "marry", but you only get one save file for each (no switching between files now).

Seriously, why in the heck is marriage so important in the Harvest Moon series anyway? In the game "A Wonderful Life" you HAVE to get married to progress past the first chapter! Natsume clearly has something against us bachelors...

Man, I still wonder why Shenmue gets all the praise it does.

The opening:

"Ryo-san..."
"Fuku-san!"
"...Ryo-san..."
"Fuku-san!"

Honestly man, I was just annoyed that it went so far away from the rest of the games. Sure it was good. Yes, it had better controls. But I liked the other RE games mostly because of the story.

Also, I never got to get all of the notes and stuff. I just borrowed it from someone, instead of buying it myself.

Many games that could have been my favourites are ruined by that curse upon controls, the plague of the 'sticky reticle'.
Please, it serves no purpose but to frustrate.

And, since when did it become the fashion to give every hero a neck brace? They can't look up or down more then forty five degrees why?
Oh yeah, that really odd verticle look speed. If it takes nearly a minute for you to look from your toes, to the ceiling (or from the bottom of your ninety degree range of eyesight, to the top), see a doctor.

People don't need to be instructed on the proper usage of the eyeball, especially from those that seem to have no clue on the mechanics of looking around and pointing things at other things.

He who can.'

If you played the game on it's release date you'd probably be whistling a different tune... unless you just don't like adventure games which is fine.

I hate it when good ideas are introduced in a genre but are largely ignored by everyone else.

-New Game+ widely popularized by Chrono Trigger? Screw that.
-Non-random battles that are actually appreciated by fans? Forget it, I hate my fans.
-Being able to save anywhere? Nope, save points mean you have to devote huge amount of time until you find an area to save!
-Strafing in action games? Sorry, it's more challenging with tank controls and shooting while standing.

I also hate how in first person shooters, your feet don't exist. It's as if the character is a floating hand that holds a gun and this is one of the largest atmosphere breakers for any FPS game for me. I mean... four games that I know of actually put the camera in the player characters head: Ultima Underworld, Call of Cthulhu, Breakdown, and Arx Fatalis.

Only four games did something that's incredibly easy to pull off... why? Is it that much more difficult to include legs? Those four games were completely immersive because of the fact that you knew your character existed outside of LOL HAND WITH GUN.

Maybe that's true, but I sort of doubt it. I think if I would have bought it at launch I would have to pretend that it was really fun in order to not get mad about how much I paid for it. Sure, you can read the ingredients of a pop can, but the game was so boring to me. Hours into the game I was still wandering around town asking people about a black car.

I don't know why Shen Mue wasn't boring for me. It just wasn't. I think the game's pace was set to slow but not too slow. In other words, perfect for some ppl.

I could never get myself to play a FPS unless it's 3rd-person view, ala Gears of War. I'm one of those ppl who could never get over the "hand with gun." It just feels so lifeless.

I must admit, FPS's are getting a little stale for me. Where as a game like Resident Evil 4 I thoroughly enjoyed. But then saying that, I don't mind FPS's at all, just what really gets me is when you never see what you look or sound like, not even in cutscenes. Bioshock for example, you never see what you look like, and you never speak aside from the opening scene. People just assume what your thinking, thats what bugs me the most.

Some Guy: So did you collect all the parts?

You: ...

Some Guy: Aha! I'll just instantly assume you have.

Now that is what I call hollow.
Please, please, you give me too little credit.

That's the same in some RPGs. The supposed theory behind this facet of game design is that by making the lead chara mute and faceless, it allows the player to better "assume the role of the protagonist."

AFAIC it's a crock of bull. I absolutely hate RPGs where the lead guy is mute and has no personality (or dialog).
