How long before fasion involves people wearing loads of clothing featuring bright neon lights of varying colors?

Is that part of the shirt or being projected onto it?
I'td be great if we had clothes that glowed like in the movie Tron, or even Sub's Bilaran wars artwork, that's pretty cool. The stuff in the vid looks a bit geeky though...
Does anyone remember Hypercolour T-shirts that changed colour when you wet them, or got hot or cold? Very embarrassing when you were sweaty :(

Two big problems with this idea. One, it required batteries. Apparently AA's at that. Two, you can't wash it in a machine. They have other choices at Think Geek. Personally, I thought this one was cooler. It reacts to sound as well as animates. I think there is also one which tells time. Still, I can't see anyone really taking to this when it requires an external power source and is hard to wash.

My friend wore one of those shirts today. I had a mini techno rave.

I'm curious. How does the shirt work? Is it some sort of fabric or are the lit portions built into a sort of soft plate or something. All the pictures make it look like the lit protion is somehow a different material than the rest of the shirt.
