For one comic I coined the word in the title "Robofemoid" I google it from time to time and one time found it raved about as a good B-movie spoof on a foreign language German website.

Odd as German is the only foreign language I can read.

Not really that much but here's a few.

1) I got told by a highschool friend that Mara-Nina is smoking hot and he'd have sex with her if he was an anime character. lol! To have people tell you your characters are hot, is something to be proud of.

2) My ex-gf told me how she was able to relate to the story of Cedrick in BK. Especially the prologue part where he eats lunch in the bathroom. She said she used to lock herself in the bathroom but she thinks its yucky to actually eat food while sitting on a toilet.

3) One of my teachers in college commented about Brood Knight. She said that I should be a psychologist / psychiatrist or something. Because I'm not afraid to explore the dark side of things when making a comic. As an artist, she understands that when you work on an artwork, you need to internalize certain emotions. She normally paints happy things. And she said that internalizing all the angst can drive her insane.

4) A few of my coworkers and real life friends know about MAG-ISA. Because the comic covers a few political and spiritual issues, I do get comments about that. I'm glad I haven't been accused of favoring one religion or political party in particular. Overall though, they think its interesting. Even for the ones who don't normally subscribe to my views on things.

Also, my 12 year old brother likes MAG-ISA. I just told him to not tell mom about that. Because the character of Eman's parents (both the mom and dad) is somewhat based off of her -- though at least a 5x exaggerrated version of her. (Sorry but I didn't really have a good relationship with my mom).

5) I get a positive response when I told people in the local UFO / spirituality type meetup groups about MAG-ISA. Especially when I say that its about one guy living in the world (who is probably a starseed / indigo child / crystal child / awakening light being / etc.), while there's a giant conspiracy going on in the background that's a collaboration between demons, the reptoids, and the illuminati. And how its influenced by people like Alex Jones, David Icke, and Coast 2 Coast AM.

Though I've also been told that by putting conspiracy stuff into a comic, that I'm trivializing serious issues. And that next time people would hear about demons, reptoids, bilderbergers, etc. They'd say "oh, you've read that in a comic! its fiction! it doesnt exist!" In my opinion though, it works both ways. In that it helps push issues like that into the mainstream. Ever wonder why movies these days are full of propaganda?

Hmm... oh, one time on a train, pre-hiatus, I was working on MisfAs and some guy came up and tried to convince me he'd read my comic. I think he was lying though. I went to a convention once though, and some girl actually *had* read my comic! I knew because she knew the names of the characters...

uhh... one time misfas got into the top 10! it was #7!!! it definitely wasn't because I bought ads. ok it was.

one time I showed a page of misfas to a friend of mine and he said, 'wow it doesn't suck anymore!'

apparently my old roommate reads The Optimist (not jonko, the other roomie); I found out because I said something mildly catty about her in my author comments and she got super-pissed at me...

none of my friends or family actually read my comic though. my sister has only given me comments when she was in desperate need to contact me (comments like "call me NOW" ). Oh but my little brother, of The Killer Reaper fame, (amazing comic btw) reads misfas, but apparently the optimist is "boring". pah!

My favorite moment was when a couple of my friends got into a debate concerning Cade and Brio and their respective worthiness as men. Then someone else jumped into the conversation, and I didn't even know that person was reading the comic ^.^ (The vast majority of people who read Salt are people I have never met before. Most of my friends and family are candid about the fact that they don't bother to read it. Sad!)

Once I was in a bar with my friend and there was this guy that came up to us and was talking about comics. Aparently he draws comics to so I gave him some of my minis that I had on me at the time, he gave both me and my friend his business card. Later when he was talking about art style he demonstrated how he drew himself on the back of one of my comics. Then he started talking about how great Ctrl Alt Delete was, at this point I was begining to suspect that he was a jerk.
Later my friend started drawing on this guy's business card, I told her that seems kind of rude then she said, "Dude, he drew on your comic! Fuck him!"
At this point I realized my friends rock.

Phil Foglio is best known for drawing Girl Genius, it's like The Steampunk webcomic. Phil Foglio is a talented and well-respected artist, and I find the fact that my comic annoyed him at one point really funny. I'm pretty sure it was the Playlist or Pirate mini that he didn't like. I wish I could remember which one it was!

I actually have a card signed from WAY back in the day when I was still actively playing Magic the Gathering. Like back around the Arabian Nights set release.

I like most of his stuff, but it's always struck me as a little off in his characters. But what do I know!? LOL! He's making a living at this! :D

The only real story I have about my own work is when people I know actually SEE the printed comic book versions I got done up, for some reason they always think I am pulling their leg. That I really didn't do this all by myself and got it printed and what not.

I don't know if they were expecting photocopies pages stapled all pell mell together or what, but I always have a hell of a time convincing people I am trying to attempt to make a living at this.

You know what's the best... When people that you know see your art and tell you, "That looks like a real cartoon!" -_- LOL WTF do they think it is. That is so not a compliment.

Yeah, it's funny that sort of thing isn't it?

I have friends/family look at my stuff ask how much money I'm getting paid for it. When I say it's on the net free, they're a little shocked and keep going on about money...

As honestly flatting as that can be, it doesn't really make you feel that good about the whole webcomic thing. I just say that if it WASN'T for me doing if for free as a webcomic, then it wouldn't exist in the first place. That shuts them up.

Oh, I have one, in my school. I have this friend, Ken, and he wanted me to draw some cool sci fi space thing for him, so I do. And when I finish and give it to him he basically shows everyone he walks by and then, in next period he asked me if I wanted to draw an album cover for this rapper-guy at our school. I felt so cool.

Killing NickGuy just makes him angry so he destroys you even more!
The proof that the comic did not kill NickGuy is that it has not yet been destoryed.

Hahah I don't even get that. I get the "that almost looks like a real cartoon".

Or if someone sees some funimation show they say to me "Hey you draw like that right? The big freaky eyes" (and then to take it further they ask me if the show's any good. I dunno I never watched the damn show!!!)

I think the best line is "You haven't given up on this stuff yet?" or
"You still doing that drawing stuff"

Why haven't I?!!!
