Just found this little gem. And that voice you hear saying "I want my mama" at 27 seconds in, that's a cat.

I didn't understand a thing about whatever legal matter was going on in relation to a talking cat, but... sure sounds like it was being hurt or tormented to do that on command? I've heard some chatty tabbys but that noise didn't sound at all happy.

lose, it will be fine. You pretend to be Zen. You adopt detachment, and
ironic humor, while secretly praying for a miracle."

The legal part of it is that apparently the owners of this cat realized that his yowling sounded like "I want my mama" and another phrase or two and took him on the road to make money off of him. The city they lived in had a problem and demanded they get a license to do these public performances of the cat's ability to "speak". The couple who owned the cat took the city to court on the grounds that because the cat could talk that the city requirement to have a business license was infringing on the cat's rights. The defense apparently pulled the "well if he can talk, then he should be able to speak for himself in the proceedings" defense and the judge threw the case out.

The cat can say some phrases. It's not being harmed or tortured. lol!
Lots of cats can do that, lots of all sorts of animals can imitate human speech in various ways. -only to an extent though.
It's NOT talking necessarily, unless the speech is matched by intention: i.e. it really does want its "mama", in this case that would be one of its owners.
If that's not why its saying that then it's simply imitating sounds for something to "say".
But any cat that chats a lot and responds to the people it lives with can learn learn to say actual words. Not very many though because their tongues, lips, teeth, and vocal cords aren't set up for speech like ours are. -because talking like we do is a human invention based on our own physiology.

I was like, 'wuh...?' the entire time.
Still. When that cat said, 'I want my momma' I thought that was somewhat cute.
