The indy comics market is getting harder and harder to maintain nowadays. With everything going digital, Diamond shutting out indepenent publishers, its turning into a real dog-eats-cat world for us printers of mini-comics and zines. So, one of the best outlets for us to show our creativity are small press conventions. There are a few left in the ol' USA, although there are some more on the rise as artists seem to decline the digital market. If you happen to live near one of these, give 'em a look. You'll find some real diverse treasures here!

I definitely believe in supporting the cons that celebrate the small press. I go to Portland Zine Symposium just about every year since 2006 and it's always been a fun time-- albeit a bit stressful as cons tend to be.

Know any good small press/indy cons near Toronto? TCAF is booked months in advance, and I can't blow $300+ for a table at ComiCon/FanExpo
