That is so correct, Superman sequel will be released in the year 2010. The Man Of Steel will be the title movie which is cool. Also, I think General Zod should come back in this sequel. You can give me some thoughts os a villain who would fight Superman in this sequel.
Legacyhero and i are doing a Kid Intense/Hero Force crosover which will be a blast. Also, we are teaming up for a Kid Intense movie. Tell me what you think of the crossover and the movie we are teaming up.

They should re-tool the whole thing again. That last movie was horrible. :(

The way I see it, the Superman "world" as it was presented in the last movie was fine, just the subject matter and pacing was just... well, let's just be polite and say "underwhelming". I suppose that's better than being campy and over the top; that killed the last generation of both Superman and Batman films, and it didn't exactly help Spider-Man. All I'm saying is that, while the last Superman movie was almost humorously boring, at least the setting itself is salvageable.

the problem isn't with the pacing or storytelling, the problem is with the superhero. Superman is boring. He's the only hero thats saves the day by WALKING AT STUFF.

i think the problem is that it was a total rehash of the first movie. he arrives on earth, lex has a land scheme that involves destroying existing land to become rich. instead of having a cool original plot they just reworked the original and instead of having a supervillain to fight they had superman lifting a series of larger and larger objects - car, daily planet globe, 1/2 of a boat, a large island of kryptonite. the only good scene in the whole movie was him saving the airplane.

They need to have him fight someone on the same superpower level as him. Instead of inventing a new one like Nucleur Man(I can't believe Firestorm didn't sue!)just for the movie, use an already established one, like Doomsday or Brainiac.

At least Kevin Spacey will still be in it; I thought he did a good job.

What? I didn't even realise the firts one had been done. :P
heh.
Personally, I think it'd be better if it just went back to the origins for real: Superman crashes to earth in the 1930's! Yay! Now THAT would be cool. :)

Ha. I agree.
I don't even think the first one was good enough to deserve a sequel. I honestly fell asleep on Superman Returns. The only exciting part was when he was trying to stop the plane from crashing in the baseball stadium. Oh and let's not forget ''WROOONG!''.

I mentioned that too, I think in a different post. With all these superhero movies coming out, it's a shame they've updated ALL of them to contemporary times. It'd nice to see some golden age hero's have movies that take place in golden age times.
I guess it'd be a pretty big leap of faith for a studio to make though

I fully agree with Inkmonkey. And I was at least entertained by Superman Returns, though I possibly give Superman more leeway than I should since he was my childhood hero.
The next Superman movie just needs the right villain.

I would've paid to watch Superman battle Al Capone and his World of Tomorrow robots.
I wouldn't watch that Superman remake even if it was on TV. (Well I'll record it so I can skip the commercials then I'll watch it).

So Superman is getting postponed.... does anyone really care? I love Superman as much as any fanboy, but meh....I'd rather see Dark Knight anyways. Kevin Spacey is returning, he was more or less, the bright spot of that film. Okay, the flying CGI rules.

YES! Dark knight is so much better.
I'll still be watching it every other week by 2010 anyway.
forget superman!

Unless Superman learns about why you shouldn't wear you underwear over your pants, then I don't think it'll have much hope in it.

Superman was simply DONE WRONG last movie.
Superman is supposed to be, for lack of a better phrase, an overgrown boyscout. He is supposed to be a little nerdy. He is supposed to be confident. He is supposed to be the straight-laced superhero. He is supposed to protect the public, and understand that is his duty. He is supposed to hold on to his convictions, and be idealistic and wholesome. That is what makes him great and original. He's NOT supposed to be what they turned him in to, which was a brooding, conflicted, lustful, emo, peeping tom asshole.
I am so sick and tired of people saying the Superman character is boring. If anything, the last movie tried to fit him into the mold that they thought the public wanted to see, and MADE HIM BORING. It's like Goth kid's dressing alike so they "can be different and original". They tried to make him BATMAN, or WOLVERINE, or SPIDER-MAN, or any other moody, emo, all-too-human fallible superhero. HE IS NOT THEM, and it was a huge mistake.

Wow, I totally agree with all that. I also felt that he was being changed a bit to try to appeal to today's trend of the anti-hero. I feel like it was Superman's purity and goodness that set apart from so many of today's heroes.

You condensed my babbling of two long paragraphs into two sentences beautifully. Thanks :D
But yeah, it's not the first time DC tried to fit a superhero into the "Dark Knight" mold. Remember "The Flash" TV series? Awful.

It's why I love Tom Welles (that his name?) in Smallville.
Well, early Smallville. Right now he's all messed up cuz he's hanging around that despicable dramarama blackhole named Lana Lang. Where's Mephisto when you need him?

I always found it difficult to give Superman the right villian.
I mean, what powers hasn't Superman already conquered through sheer will?

I think they were going to do the Justice League movie first, and then the next Superman flick.
