I've been wondering if anyone else decided to pick up this game (it's hard to pass something up for 10 USD) or have been considering trying it out. What started as a fan favorite flash game has now turned into full-fledged platformer...and I think it's awesome!
Though beware - this isn't for the casual lover of platformers, it's basically platforminer gone wild. It's very twitchy - often times you need very precise timings, especially if you want to finish the course with a perfect grade. Personally, this is the sort of stuff I love, but I'm aware that this is also a very particular audience. So if you prefer games that aren't quite so frustratingly, hair-pullingly, difficult, it might be best to avoid this one, because you're probably going to break a keyboard/game controller.
One thing I like about this game is that the developers did a lot of stuff right. For one, they took hardcore platforming and chopped it into bite-size pieces. That way, that one particular level that punishes you for dying once (yeah, I'm sure you guys already know a game that does do this) only gives you a minor setback rather than throwing you back to the beginning of the level.
Secondly, they knew how to keep people playing. Whether you purchase this on XBLA, Steam, what have you, each level has a leaderboard of scores. Perfect! Why doesn't every arcade game have something like this? Of course, I find that other games did this even better by comparing your score immediately after you finish a level to your friend's scores. Super Meat Boy, however, has you access a lookup table instead, so it's not right there for you to see. Either way, this just seems to be a must-have for any arcade game, especially for those that love comparing scores (that's sort of what arcade games are all about anyway).
Overall, it's a fun, wild game. While it's no longer 10 USD (though it might drop later), I'd still recommend it at full price. Especially if one of your friends already has the game. Shame them by demolishing their scores! ;)

Oh hells no. I am not letting a good topic die just because no one has taken interest in to a fairly unknown-ish game! Hells no.
Meat Boy is basically pretty amazing, yes, extremely pissing hard, but at least it's not just the IWBTG's EVERYTHING KILLS YOU bullshit, Meat Boy is about 10x better than whatever I was just talking about.
PLUS IT HAS AN AMAZING SOUNDTRACK , and the amazing ABILITY TO PISS OF PETA FOR NO REASON , thus for the reasons I have just been discussing (as listed above) I think Meat Boy is pretty amazing and thus everyone should go buy it!
Here's the flash version which is actually much less good, for reference

You're right! Support the little guys!
And how could I have forgotten about the awesome music this game has? For such a small team, this game has a high production value compared to one might expect.

If memory serves me right, this small team consists only of two guys, right?
I haven't bought this game but I did try the flash version a little while back.
Those were my two cents.

You're quite right on this game only having two developers! I think one does the story and level design, and the other does the actual coding. Though the music was done by an independent artist, but I don't think he's wholly affiliated with their team.
Also, I heard there is a level designer on the way. So now we can start seeing some UGC for this game. Ah, such a replayable title.
