I found this game very boring. I fell asleep watching my friend play. Mario runs around on endless round balls which makes me seasick, not to mention you only ever see him from the top down, and tiny.

I played it for an hour a week ago (just to the 1st save point) and I never went back...

I did like and beat Super Paper Mario on Wii.

I did watch my friend play for an entire night. He got up to the 2nd boss (lava octopus thing).

I'm sure clever little game mechanics are introduced later on... but I've seen what the game's basically about. And yawn.

OH FOR GOD'S SAKE!
You watched your friend play the game, and say it's boring? Try playing it?
Then when you play it, you play it for the first save point? So you stopped playing before the action starts?
If you play a game for that little time it's probably gonna be boring.
JEEZ
THIS NEW SITE SUCKS I'M LEAVING FOREVER I PROMISE, GUYS.
NOT BLUFFING, I'M GONE IF YOU DON'T FIX IT.
Oh god I'm so alone someone pay attention to me

Your friend played for an entire night and he only got to the lava octopus? Seriously, that's still in the first stage. Your friend seems to have problems.

I will admit, though, that the first couple episodes are too easy. In fact, a good portion of the game seems to be holding your hand way more than necessary. Basically the game's designed so that even untalented schmucks can at least beat Bowser, but gives plenty of extra, very difficult tasks for "hardcore" games to complete.

I was not a fan of Mario 64. It was okay, but Mario Brothers 3 needs a 3D makeover. Do that, I'll pay sixty bucks for it the day its released.

This stuff with the planets gravity and wii mote controls, doesn't look appealing to me. Looks like fun, but I'd rather shoot stuff.

Oh, you can shoot stuff in this game.

...

Granted you shoot stuff with space candy and it only makes some enemies dizzy for brief periods of time, but hey, it's still shooting.

I want a little bit different from my games now. Resident Evil 4 delivered exactly what I wanted in a video game. The sort of action heavy, outrageous story, rpg elements (every game has them now! Hooray!), and brutal violence.

It does look like fun, but just watching video reviewers play it made me dizzy. I'm glad to see that all the levels aren't like that, but I am sad to see it has the same "collect all these star!" stuff from the last few marios. I hate collecting things. Be it in an shooting game or platformer, its annoying. You play the same area several times. Its like backtracking through an area thats filled with a ton of enemies, metroid and castlevania does that one a lot. I'm glad to see a return of the suits with whacky powers. But I really just want a straightforward platformer. No collecting crap, just a few hundred levels of jumping over pits, shooting fireballs at bad guys, and jumping on a boss three or four times to kill him. No story necessary. Give me a fire world, a water world, an ice world, dessert world, horror world, and other staples of the genre. The first few Crash Bandicoots were close to what I wanted from a 3D platformer in some ways.

I'm about 87 stars in (trying to collect as many as I can before beating the thing) and still loving the game. Kinda hoping the gravity component works its way into future games because it adds a nice puzzle component (i.e. "Why's that platform shaped like a cross?" *gravity change and looks ahead at the rest of the puzzle* "ohhhh." ) Everything is nicely divided in a way that the three initial star missions share as little of the same region as possible in each world, and the hidden stars have that alternate exit feel. Though I must say that the best aspect is the challenge mission set where you have to do stuff like beat bosses again without getting hit, speedrun a level, redo a puzzle with the thwomps and such moving faster, or racing against your clone from point A to point B. It really is a solid platform game that doesn't have to rely on collecting 8 red coins, 100 music notes, and five multicolored birds per world.
That's "Dr. BlkKnight" to all of you.

I think that it is a great game! If you play through the game get all 120 stars and beat the final boss twice... you get luigi as a playable character! But it takes a long time, especially the daredevil challenges, they piss me off! one hit and you freakin' dead!
