Emos freak me out. Anyone here an Emo?

My brother's an "emo". He thinks his (my) family is out to get him. It's rather funny.

I wear alot of black as do my characters, but no.

Maybe I'm showing my age, but I don't get the whole emo thing. When I was in high school we just called them the weird kids, or the Drama Club.

Almost my entire wardrobe is black, but that's because I'm too lazy to match an outfit otherwise, and because wearing all black makes me look badass. ;)

I jes like the colors black, red, and white. That's the extent of my emo'ness. But I don't really understand what it means to be emo or even goth for that matter. I don't even know the difference.

Has anyone ever dressed up in black and was called Emo? I'm not one to dress darkly, but there's this one particular black outfit that I wear when I'm happy cause it makes me look some fifty pounds lighter and with a body of a dancer. The first time I wore it, my mom looked at me and said "Are you becoming Emo now, too?" (as my brother is one). I sort of gave her a moronic look. I got funny looks for the rest of the day... except for one teacher who said I looked good.

If I didn't know he was naive like that, I would have been just a little creeped out.

My friend called me emo yesterday cuz I was in all black.

I found that the best way to contradict a accusation like that is to laugh. Realistically and seriously, but really laugh.

Cause Emos don't laugh.

Correction-Emo's CAN'T laugh. I once saw an emo start to laugh-BOTTLE hit him right in face. Yeah, I threw it! How can he be happier then me? I have money.

heres my two-cents on the matter:

there are two types of emo kids:

A)the ones with REAL problems(and not just teen angst)

these ones are usually...disturbed somehow,or have some kind of mental/social problem.
people should leave these ones alone.

and

B)the kind that group around the real one,thinking there cutting and liking of weird music is cool,when its actually just that person liking what they like and being themselves.

these ones wear all the stereo typical "emo"clothing,cut for no-reason,and become fake-depressed...if thats not worse,they listen to my-chemical-romance shit,thinking its punk,and then if you get them to listen to the REAL stuff(fugazi,the misfits,the clash)they claim "thats not punk".

these ones deserve a kick in face.
