I have a good one that I'm turning into a comic now. I'm pretty damn excited about it.
I don't want to tell you much about it, though. I will tell you that it's about a city of crime (not Sin City crime, as in there are no authorities) and it takes place a few years in the future (not many).
I've drawn the first page and am working on the second. I reckon it's gonna be good.
Expect it in the next couple of weeks.

I've nearly finished writing the script for my next comic, which I'm pretty excited about. It's called Quest For Zanvadas and it's set in space, hurray! It's going to be longer than my first comic too :) I also don't want to say too much about it lol

I was thinking, what about one of those "End of the World" type stories or movies, except there is literally only one survivor. It just narrates his life wandering through the remains of the Earth. He doesn't ever find another survivor, there are no mutant zombies or aliens, he's just completely alone. I've been trying to start creating it, but every time I try, the story is just too depressing and I stop.

That sounds cool. Like, in most movies/stories like that I reckon he'd find at least one other survivor, but I like how in this one he doesn't. It could get boring, but if done well, it could be pretty awesome.

I figure I could keep people hooked with the post-apocalyptic scenery. It would be kind of a psychological storyline where he has creepy visions of his family and friends.

yeah, The scenery would need to be good. Would all the buildings be damaged heaps or would the people've just vanished? I like the flashback idea too.

Lately I've been wanting to do short stories or stories that are easily broken down into short installments. I've started thumbnailing a comic about a guy who gets a spaceship after it crashes in a junkyard. I also had an idea for a one-shot silent comic about someone trying to get to the airport to see a friend off.

My idea is that the main character is an astronaut out in space when a meteor hits Earth and wipes out the entire population, so the main idea is kind of a half-sunken swamp world with plenty of destroyed buildings and stuff.

The problem with your last man on earth concept is that you have a premise but no story. What I mean is with no other characters you basically have a setting. Just one guy wandering about with no dialogue. This could work I suppose with a lot of flashback memory sequences, but to be a story something has to happen. If it's a swamp then you can have animal interaction. Wait why is it a swamp? Wouldn't it be more likely a scorched earth sort of scene with lots of ash in the air?.Why is he alone, though?..Astronauts don't head out alone... Did you kill his co-workers before landing?
Just some things to consider... :)

Yeah, I'm still trying to work out the logic of the story. His fellow astronauts would probably go down with him, but they crash and he is the only survivor. And I probably worded "swamp" wrong. I figured that since a meteor would probably send huge waves engulfing all the continents, everything would be sort of a semi-submerged marshland. I'm a long way from making this into a real, workable story though.
