Story Idea

So I have this story idea in my head now for a while and I was wondering what people thought about the idea. It is not a real story, just the basic scenario and I am still playing with the details.

So now that you are prepared here it is;

"The story starts roughly around around 4500AD on the planet Earth. However it is neither the time nor the planet that it should have been. Roughly around 2500AD scientists discovered a new power generated by the body itself. It has always been around, known as Chi, lifeforce, inner power, etc. but only then did they learn how to tap into it, enhance it and use it as a weapon. The result were weapons allowing a single human to destroy a city with a single blast.

This kind off firepower was far greater then any nuclear/hydrogen/fusion bombs ever could hope to achieve and a third cold war broke out throughout the planet. Off course neither side dared to fall behind and both constructed a simular weapon which was never meant to be used. The best description for them would be two gigantic cannons able to gather and enhance a nearly limitless amount of energy. Imagine a human with an energy level of 5 could destroy a city, then imagine 2 billion people linked to each fun and providing it with their energy. If either weapon would be fired the earth wouldn't be blown up. It would be instantly vaporised, along with the solar system and those neighbouring it.

Neither side dared to fire the weapon, but off course they didn't dare to destroy it either. Basically it just sat there, continuesly absorbing more energy, while never even being intended to fire. Off course situations like are bound to take a turn for the worst.

It is unknown what exactly happened. Plenty of rumours though. Ranging from a crazy general to the guns achieving some form of self awareness and firing themselves to end their purpose. It really doesn't matter how it happened, but what happened. When both weapons were fired Earth was history along with every living thing in the solar system...

... or so it should have been. Nobody knows what happened, but somehow when the blasts hit each other they didn't explode and only a miniscule fraction of their energy was released. The most popular theorie is that god himself stepped down from heaven and saved the earth once more. Again not the most important part, what was important that the Earth was saved and only a tiny fraction off the energy was released.

Wait did I say saved? How inaccurate can you get? The miniscule fraction of the energy that was released devastated the Earth. Mountains were olbliterated, ocean's evaporated, even entire continents where destroyed or even thrown on top off each other. It is needless to say humanity was almost extinct. Casualty estimates guess less then a thousand humans survived that day. Less then a thousand out of fifety billion people. The only ones that survived were those with incredible energy levels, the true masters off their time.

Even they didn't come out off that energy storm unchanged though. Like their planet they had changed. No big external or internal changes mind you. However as always when threathened nature acts and adapts itself. Humans adapt even faster, but that day changed humanity forever. Those that survived found themselve able to harness incredible amounts off energy, but that was the slightest and most meaningless off all changes.

Aside from new ability's the biggest change was pregnancy. Instead off nine months children would now be born in less then three days after the act. Growing up happened even faster. From the day till they were born till reaching the old equivalent of being 16 took less then three months. Just as strange was aging after that. For years they wondered why some off the kids seemed to become a hundred in less then five years, while others seemed to live a hundred years before becoming a day older. In the end they finally figured that the amount off energy someone possessed determined how long he or she would live. There were even reports of people becoming younger after increasing their energy...

Energy is the key word in the whole story. Not only did it destroy the world and nearly humanity, it also gave birth to a new kind of humanity...

...and something else...

They didn't notice it till a hundred years later when the human population already came close to 300 million and people scattered across the earth once more. The first thing they noticed was the travel between villages. What at first was a short three hour hike suddenly became six hours and then nine. At first it was comonly believed it was due to the vegatation that seemed to grow at an incredible rate and making the trip harder, but soon that theorie wasn't sustainable anymore. While new kinds off monsters seemed to pop-up everyday it was impossible to believe they caused a three hour hike to become a full week trip.

There was only one logical conclusion, but no one even dared to believe it till the year 3500AD, when the Earth swallowed the moon, followed by Jupiter, Mars, Pluto and every other planet in the galaxy.

Only then did they give in to the idea the Earth itself had become a living entity. It was a byproduct off the energy blast. Being engulfed by that much energy somehow brought the planet alive. Not alive like a human being, it had no concious or thought, but alive nonetheless. It had begun to grow, like a single cell eventually developing into a baby, so was the Earth now growing at an increasing rate.

As it grew many wonders happened, from entire forest being grown in one night to mountains shooting out from the ground at a visible speed. But it didn't bring only wonders. Along with it's growth it spawned foul creaters. From gigantic animals to fully fledged demons.

Nothing the new human race couldn't handle though. Equiped with their energy and increasing numbers they continued to spread and develop across the planet. With nothing standing in their way they quickly regained their lost technology and within a thousand years, they possess enough technology to make the lost civilisation come within arms reach.

Everything seemed peaceful and even with the growing planet causing some concerns, humanity prospered as it never had. TILL... till human nature itself reemerged and a war broke out. While local at first, it quickly spread across the entire Island of Panceoke. It wasn't a war that could be won though. Literally it couldn't be won.

With the new rate at which new humans were born all sides were able to send unlimited attacks at each other. They even went so far as to create entire provinces with the only purpose of creating new kids/soldiers. Allowing the soldiers returning from the front select a girl and impregnate her. Thus killing two birds with one stone; the need for soldiers and allowing soldiers to blow off steam on their leave.

When this story starts the war has already lasted for more then a century and nearly 300 million soldiers have lost their lives. It is then when a group off children run away from one off the camps to decide their own future. As it turns out though the only way to change the future is to end the war and to end the war they have to join it.

Eventually they forge a plan that will span nearly a decade, that will draw them all to their necks in blood, violence and the dreaded war. But a plan that if works will stabilize the area and end the war.

All members off the plan are shrouded in mystery. All but onel their Leader Degeto which will be the story's main character. Him and a mysterious young man he runs across during one off his travels, who is more then he seems to be. The man has incredible power, but no recollection of how he got it or even who he is. To make it even stranger there are seven black balls/crests implanted in his body that seem to be amplifying the man's power.

Somehow a friendship will flourish and while the man keeps himself wrapped in mystery he assists Degeto as best as he can. Together they start with the first step in ending the war; forming a mercenary group to fight in it.

Well that is the story I have so far. Hope you guys like it and are interested in it. If not please let me know and tell me what you don't like. Same if you have questions. I'd be glad to answer any.

Hope you enjoyed it,

interesting.

But remember the rule of thumb. Its all about DELIVERY. You can take the crappiest, most cliche type of plotline and turn it into a success all because you deliver it properly.

Good luck with your story.
NOW UPDATING!!!

Yes off course, you are right. But I was looking for a way to have humans, yet not with any off the old influences which they had back now. Plus I wanted to do something that would allow me to work in influences of animes like Bleach and DBZ, or super hero stuff, without it not making sense. By basing their world upon energy quite literally everything is happening, especially considering the Earth itself is growing and evolving.

But you are absolutely right. The deliverance is absolutely vital and it is the part which I have to work on next.

So thank you for your comment, I apreciate it.
