Yeah there's been a lot of rumors around the internet the past few years. Does anyone know if the new Star Wars movie rumors a true. I think everyones grown out of the whole star wars craze now but It'd be nice to see a new Star Wars. I just don't know if I'd want to see it in the theaters. I'd probably rent it.

i doubt it. lucas is currently planning or making 2 TV shows. 1 animated and 1 live action. i also read an article where lucas says that he can make 40 hours of TV for less than a 2 hour movie and that was why he was making the 2 star wars TV shows.

I can't see it happening because of the age of the original cast--since Hollywood is just as obsessive that its leading men be youthful as it is that its actresses be stick-thin skinny.
Unless they are planning on using all newcomers and ignoring the original cast, which would be worse. George Lucas has almost no creative cells left in his brain, and I shudder to think what the cast of characters would be like if he created new ones from whole cloth.

Yeah, I'd hate to see what he'd do. I mean, not only did he make that weak prequel trilogy, before that he had already gone back into the original trilogy and messed that up with all sorts of poorly inserted CGI rubbish.
It's a shame... Maybe he's had a stroke or something? How could the genius who came up with the marketing goldmine that is Starwars have lost all creative skill and ability like that? It's quite scary really. :(
Let's hope none of US ever suffer a similar fate. ...not that any of us have a multi-billion dollar movie franchise under our belts...

I may be a Star Wars whore who would be willing to give my body to Lucas... but I don't like the idea of an Episode 7. The series is perfect right now (animated series and movies), so the idea of another movie just seems useless as of now.
...
But an Old Republic movie sounds nice. *big smile*

They'd be movies of the novels. With jedi wookies and Han's kids. Crappy books=crappy movies

lies and nonsense, i thought the first three were unnecessary, and i think lucas realized that too.

There are some great fan fictions out there. Lots of great, imaginative writers. If one of those guys get recruited, then the sky is the limit.
I don't think Lucas has any more original ideas, though. If they bring in good writers and credit him like Gene Roddenbury is credited in Star Trek, then they may make something great.

Star Wars Episode 7: if it happens, I can almost guarantee you we will learn so much sad drivel about Darth Vader, his emo regrets and/or madness and of course, the droids ad nauseum. Oh and probably way too much time on Obiwan hanging out in the desert on Tatooine. Maybe he'd get an unknown to play young Han Solo and show his early years on the Millenium Falcon. Whee. More than likely, such a film would officially destroy all remaining respect for the characters.

Dueeast, sad to say is wrong. There is no more respect for the medium as a whole and even less for the characters.

Even though I'm a big Star Wars fan. I seriously hope that this is a rumor. I think that the story has run its course. Plus I agree with the majority of people that said they think George Lucas has lost his creative mojo. You only need to watch part of The Phantom Menace to realize that.

Actually TPM is my "most watched" of all the Prequels. 2 good things came out of TPM that is unmatched IMO by anything else in the Prequels: Qui-Gon Jinn and Darth Maul.
Of course I tune out everything else when I watch it.

I agree Darth Maul is sexy. It's one of the things to inspire me to love doubleblades. Well that and Chrono Cross.

Ozone: care to explain why you felt like hiding the phrase: "...not that any of us have a multi-billion dollar movie franchise under our belts..." in the super teeny tiny writing above?

I hate the superteeny font. It's like the poster expects me to spend the time clicking on Reply just to read a few extra words. Nvm that DD often is slow as hell.

If they make another Star Wars movie, it won't have the original actors in it. Carey Fisher hates Lucas (just listen to how they try to edit her comments in interviews about Lucas sending her to fat camp to lose 30 pounds).
I don't need to see another Star Wars movie. I enjoyed the first 3 the first time, and did not care for the new ones at all.

The prequel trilogy was the reason I lost all interest in Star Wars, when up until TPM I was a mad fan. :(

FINALLY SOMEONE ELSE REALIZES HOW FREEKYSTUPID IT WAS.
It was so pathetic hearing the fanbois cheer at rubber Yoda. Go suck Lucas' cock and STFU. That's what I was telling them with my telepathy.
