For some reason I got the strange idea to create a sprite comic. I found a few websites with sprites but...now I need a storyline.
I really don't want mine to be just one lame joke after another.
Does anyone have suggestions for a storyline?

Don't fall for it, they'll horribly rape your view on sprite comics. Also your characters.

If you want, I could help out a bit with a storyline. I started mine as a random gag one, but somehow it turned into a rather serious story, so I guess I could be of some assistance. PQ me if you're interested, it's always fun to help others with their writing.

It mostly depends on the game.
Just think about the storyline in the game and change it so it's more interesting.
It also depends on the type of sprite comic.
Comedy, Serious, random, etc.

For comedy do some dramatic story and the heros are idiots.
For serious comics just don't anything random, it has to look real as if it can really happen in the real life or in the game you're using.
I see you don't want lame jokes after another so random can't work.
Random is mostly the one liner stuff, no storyline comics.
