The only advantage his new costume gives him is that it makes him look more like the Scarlet Spider

Yeah, we all have to remember how amazing and groundbreaking the fucking clone shit was. Three years of mainstream Spiderman wasted.

Onslaught was just as bad.

Yeah. Spidey will probably give it to Spider-Woman as a handmedown. It looks way too much like one of the Darkstar uniforms from DC Comics.

Y'know what else would be cool, is to show Spider-Man trying to use all the functions of the new costume, then finding out that it's so complex that all it does is confuse him, and that would be a nice excuse to go back to the old costume.

Wouldn't it be too big though? :-D
She'd have to get her seamstress to work on it... A nice tailored job. Female superheros have specially moulded chest pieces so that their breasts all look exactly the same size and shape.

I would actually like to see him go back to his black, evil costume. It was his coolest, I think.

Good thing I don't read anything but the Ultimate series anymore.

sorta-on-topic, anyone seen Ultimate Avengers the movie? Noplace around here has it to rent, or even buy..

I haven't seen it yet, but I got it from Netflix. I'll probably watch it tonight. Are you in the states? If you are you can buy it from Amazon.com.

Hate to say it, but it looks.... Reeeaaallly bad.

The animation isn't that impressive, either.

Personally, I really enjoyed the Ultimate Avengers movie. Of course, it wasn't as good as The Ultimates; I think the story was simplified a bit too much, but it had a good feel to it. Personally, my favorite parts of the movie were with The Hulk; even as Bruce Banner he was very entertaining. If nothing else, you should watch the fight scenes near the end of the movie.

I enjoyed it. There was an preview of the second movie, which looks really cool. It's going to include The Black Panther and part of it's set in Wakanda.

Yup, it blows goat balls!

After all the hype, I started to dislike Spiderman! I cannot wiat until it really ends.

The fucking story seems to never end, and the writers of Spidercrap had ran outta ideas since the 15th Century (Not to that extend). I mean, you got my point.

Enjoy... Las Vegas-y

Ultimate Avengers is 2D animated, right? Any 2D animation involving superheros is usually good for something.

Well...cept that new 'The Batman' show...

The odd thing I've noticed is The Batman is actually decently written and the actors are fairly competent in what they do, but aspects of the design and the writing try so hard to differentiate the series from the classic Batman: The Animated Series that it's actually seriously hurting itself.

A similar thing happens from time to time in the Ultimate Marvel line. Occasionally the writers want to do something more than just "modernizing" old Marvel tales, so they add a twist or change a character, which is all well and good for them, but the change is occasionally unnecessary or just plain stupid.

Yeah, I noticed/like that. As you who read my posts all know, I'm a huge Jean Grey buff, and I like the Ultimate X-men view on Phoenix. And, don't read any futher if you don't want know anything new about Ultimate X-men, but they made Colossus gay, which I think is a pretty interesting twist on his character. I kinda like it when they reboot seris, because it gives you new perspective on the characters.

Oh, and since mainstream Marvel is Earth 616 or something like that, would that mean the Ultimate seris is a whole 'nother earth? Like, Earth 763 or something?

The animated film was cool for one reason: The Hulk fight at the end. Also the nazi stuff at the begging was fairly cool. They left Bucky out completely, or I wasn't paying enough attention to see him. Oh and I know they left out Hawkeye. He's like Joe Avenger. How can you have something Avengers without Hawkeye.

Also Iron Man needed to drink more.

I somewhat agree. Although they could lessen up on the corney character quips and make the characters a little deeper. But I'm such a fan of the old series I can't really stand to watch this new one. A shame, because with any other series this team could make me interested.

My thoughts on Spider-man are a bit two-fold. I loathe the new costume, but yet, for story sake, I am intriuged and hope it serves it's purpose.

Oh for those who don't know what exactly happened to Spidey..

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morlun]Check this sheet. [en.wikipedia.org]

The normal wiki profile of Spider-man sorta glazes over it, but the link above gives you the goods, and a page showing our fave hero getting his, well, something ripped out.

Either way, I think the Morlun or whatever character and the idea of Spidey dying is bullshit, but I am a fan of the Civil War storyline they got brewing.

And I too think the costume will revert back to it's old original one, as Tony Stark's suit is rebuilding Parker's body.. I think. I hope. I don't want him to be like that forever. :-/

I did note something though, and that I read somehwere, maybe on the wikipedia site profile or in an interview, Spider-man is a classic love/hate relationship for the writers. Everyone hates MaryJane, they think she's boring, Spider-man is boring, and if the fans didn't actually care, spider-man's world would be screwed up, and stay that way. But they also respect the franchise and yearn to write for the series.

Weird.

The main problem with all of the token characters like this (Batman, Superman, the Hulk, Spiderman, the X-Men, etc...) is that there is only so much that you can do. These characters weren't created by focus groups thinking of them as the most intruiging characters who could have the greatest possible amount of conflicts, problems, and interesting stories for decades to come. They were created through various re-imaginings by various creators. So after a while the 'examining the conflict' story grows old and they have to resort to gimmicks and dues ex machina story arcs and graphic violence and taglines like 'THE -Insert Company- UNIVERSE WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN' to sell the books/issues.

Oh well. Part of the reason I think that while super hero stories are great and all, they need to end at some point. Or at least don't try to pack everything in to one continuity.

So, I picked up the Amazing Spider-Man 530, leading up to this Civil War event, and apparently Tony Stark already upgraded the suit within 24 hours, a quick rundown of it's two newest features:

Nano Fibers: These allow the costume to take on different styles, including classic and alternates, it also can be worn at all times and camoflauge itself against Peter's skin, so it looks like he's not wear the suit, which should be very helpful. Among the forms it showed were the new costume, the classic costume and an updated version of the symbiote look. So far this feature impresses me, I'm enjoying the fact he can adjust the look to whatever he needs.

Also, the darker the background, the better Spidey's new camoflauge is. So his suit is pretty well suited for night time action I think.

The second feature are the Waldoes. These are limited use extra-arms that pop out of the suit, they feature sensors and cameras which feed data to Peter's lense, and can pick objects up. They also have limited ability in combat.

I'm rather enjoying this actually, Tony Stark and Peter Parker are a good pair and feed off each other well. The costume doesn't bug me all that much because it actually can help in the long run.
