Or in the art forum... these forum names are a bit confusing, "Hey Everyone Look What I did" is supposed to be the comic whoring area. It does sound like a show your goodies kind of area though. Still love the work though. Was that in painter?

Great work for speed stuff Sub! Have you thought of taking it further though? Like a whole speed comic, or speed polishing of/touching up to a chosen speed painting, or maybe a series of speed paintings of a single object, room, or person from different angles, positions, or lighting styles?
-edit I see you're doing that with "The Rock", sort off. What a great project!
It's just that, I really think you've mastered the technique. It'd be interesting how far you could take it now. That's some admirable work! These faces and their lighting styles are looking quite good for the time they take, while capturing the energy that only speed can give them. The furst one's my favourite because of the angle and the fact that the face is the total focus.

Forgive my ignorance, but what exactly constitutes a 'speed painting'?

oz: i realized that i could probably tell a story through speed paintings. and they don't take that long to make because the story and the art flows really fast.
shadow: a painting in which you put colors & line work really fast. it's pure artistic instinct most of the time. it doesn't give your brain to think if what you are doing is right, jsut that you are doing it. "the rock" and "mute" was created in this way. where i would have a vague idea of what comes out of a page.
The idea behind it is when you dream. When you are your own reality. nothing outside can interrupt your world that you have created. when you dream your brain lays out the canvas and the impulses of electricity is your oil. it flows in and out unhinder by the rules of reality. but to you it makes sense. it's kinda like that. I'm sharing the sensation of a dream in "the rock".

for me it's 30 min or less

Jeezus christ. These look like professional works. Do you do this all on an image program or with oil paints?

testing a free program called "art rage"
http://www.ambientdesign.com/index.html
15min
it's pretty good. since my ram is small i have a hard time mixing colors. this prog works really well when it comes to a painterly look. i just like the textures on the edges of the color.

This was suppose to be a short story in speed painting format like "the rock" but it never took off. it was a lot of drama.
