With Mel Brooks and the other writer of Spaceballs involved, this has just left me very curious. I wonder what it will be like? Or if it will suck. Though...I don't have that channel...don't know if I'll be able to see it. =/

Must be to coincide the release of the Spaceballs sequel. Personally, I don't quite know how to react to there being a series. I always looked at the film as being more of a parody than a franchise.

I seem to be the only person on this forum that tough Spaceballs was quite sucky, still I want to see that animated series. Don't know why, but it has to be the most idiotic series ever! It's just curiosity I guess...

Hm, weird. I absolutely loved the movie, but I'm not too sure about it being animated since I think the actors were part of what made it so funny. Then again, I don't get that channel either (curse you, lack of cable television), but I'm sure it'll show up on youtube sooner or later. =p

I know it's parody, but Lucas films are still very litigious... The original movie may have gotten away with it, but a series might find things a different story.

Then again, they might focus more on some of the other parody elements- planet of the apes, etc....

You're darn right Lucas is litigious. One of the original deals for Spaceballs was that there actually COULDN'T be any merchandising. That meant no toys, breakfast cereal, or jammy jams.

I read that Brooks was making, Young Frankenstein into a musical, but I missed the animated Spaceballs. YAY! (Keep Firing Assholes!) I am a huge Brooks fan...Where's my History of the World II?

I've read and I'm surprised. This is going to be interesting. But with I luck I'll probably miss the first episode. Or it might get canceled after watching the first few epsiodes. Either it will be very interesting.

I like all of the Mel Brooks films...I personally find that the more you watch them, the more random things you notice. The weakest in my opinion is Dracula: Dead and Loving It...but even that one has grown on me a bit.

The weakest Mel Brooks movie that I've seen is probably History of the World. I actually found Men in Tights and Silent Movie to be very amusing :) But still the only Brooks film that was GREAT would be Blazing Saddles. It's the only one that keeps being hilarious.

Men in tights was an embarrassment... I went to see that one :(

Back then I used to think movie critics were full of themselves. They said it was a poor film with stupid cliches, the same old stuff etc. and I ignored it because I new better (hah, so I thought)...
Well, they were right. When it got to the point of the Rabbi marrying the couple I was groaning in my seat! Fuck Mel, what did you think you were doing? To throw in that bit of overused idiocy... Jebus. None of the Robin Hood films that came out then were especially good though, particularly the serious ones. The Kevin Kostner one was just ludicrous. I think there might have been one that wasn't too bad though?

Blazing Saddles is a Brooks masterpiece! The original Producers was a really ok movie too. I like the silent film, especially the bit where the only line that's spoken was by Marcel Marceau. :)
